Under the direction of Cheerleading Coach, Lauren Degryse, cheerleaders will be taught the fundamentals of cheering at the Pop Warner, Middle School, and Junior Varsity level. The program has had consistent leadership for over 20 years- unsual for progams like this. Quality staff provide great role models. Both of my boys attended and had a wonderful time. Volleyball: Middle School Team Skills - Main Campus
The Harding Team Skills Volleyball Camp for 6th to 8th graders builds on the skills acquired during the June Individual Skills Camp (serving, passing, setting, attacking). Fast-paced team drills and games focused on enhancing court awareness, better understanding of game flow, anticipation, readiness, transitioning between offense and defense. Middle School girls continue developing team synergy, as well as achieving an advanced level of proficiency, utilizing three hitters, serving aggressively to get more aces, and converting serve-receive into a kill. Camp serves as a good jump-start in preparing for the Harding volleyball season (August-September). Daily team recognition. Camp ends with a tournament, which is always a blast. Join us for some serious, but always fun, volleyball. Coaches include Carol Green, Harding Head Varsity Volleyball Coach, Stephen Rhein, Harding Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach, Amanda Millikan, Harding JV/6th gr. NO CLASS JULY 4. Stop thinking, start doing! The fun and games of improv teach awareness, trust and going with your gut. Learning to create scenes that everyone will swear came from a script. Discover how easy it is to find the funny. No memorization, no rehearsals, no mistakes - just bring your desire to have a good time. INSTRUCTOR BIO: KEELY KIRK stepped into the improv abyss at a tender age and found a place to be herself. She began training with Mental Floss, a Miami-based improv/sketch troupe which performed at the Coconut Grove Playhouse until Hurricane Andrew blew it all away. She went on to be a principal performer for over ten years with Laughing Gas Comedy Improv --Miamis longest-running improv theatre company. She then decided that Miami was just too warm and balmy and moved to Chicago (the improv epicenter), where she was involved with and trained with IO (formally Improv Olympics) and Second City. While in Chicago, Keely decided to follow President Obama to Washington D.C., to become his presidential jester; however, due to government cutbacks, she was furloughed. Take art to a new level! Whether you are an accomplished young artist or someone who thinks they cant do any art, we promise you are in for a hands-on 3 dimensional fun experience with wood burning, tie-dyeing with Indigo, printmaking, weaving and felting and that is truly EXTREME! We will teach you to use a special pyrography (wood burning) tool and to draw designs, patterns and texture into wood, leather and dried gourds. The ancient Greeks called it writing with fire. After the design is burned in, shading and coloring can be added. You will discover the art of printmaking, how to use a printing press, carve linoleum blocks into stamps, and create a masterpiece using natural items and a collagraph abstract print. Go back in time as you dye fibers using natural indigo and tie-die your camp t-shirt to the EXTREME! Create Native American inspired medicine pouches through a felting process and weave your own tapestry using card or hand looms from simple to complex.
