My son is going to be a senior this upcoming year and this past summer, he wanted to go to ASM Materials, Metallurgy, and Forensics Engineering Institute in Rapid City, SD. We reluctantly sent him, but were amazed at all the wonderful things he learned and did while he was there. He had hands-on learning in an educational environment about materials, metals, building and engineering. It was as if he has gone away for a semester of college. Blue Moose Sports Camp Remember the days when you would wake up, run over to your friends house and not come home until dinner? That is what I remember most about growing up in Western Springs. I would be out all day playing different games with my friends. We never sat in front of the TV, we always had a game to play whether we had a large group or if it was just a couple close friends. Children dont have that opportunity any more. They have too many activities and distractions. In the day of technology and organized/competitive sports, children dont get the chance to just play! Blue Moose Sports Camp was created to give children a place to stay active and play during the summer. It is important for children to be active. These are the years that they should be developing a love for fitness and their health. Blue Moose Sports Camp gives them the chance to enjoy simple games in a safe and fun environment. Enjoy the thrill of kayaking, boogie board the waves at Napatree, get a taste of stand-up paddle boarding, and choose your snorkel spots from a local navigation chart. Take the first exciting step in learning to surf by practicing your stance, balance, paddle technique, and duck dives safely in the Harbor.
