Lexington Family Magazine Summer Camps & Activities Fair - Lexington,
Visit booths representing camps, afterschool activities, birthday party venues, health care professionals, schools and more at our 14th Annual Fair. The Fair will be held at Lexington Christian Academy at 450 W. Reynolds Rd. just across the street from Meijer and behind Fayette Mall. We fill both of the gyms at the school. Each booth will have a fun activity for kids while Mom and Dad chat with the professionals. You'll find giant inflatables, face painting, costumed characters, games and giveaways. While you are there you can enter your kids in our Cover Model Contest. Professional photographer Lucy Chesnut, of Glitter and Sawdust Studios, will take photos of all their smiling faces and we'll use those pictures to choose winners who will appear on the covers of Lexington Family Magazine in the next year. We'll also have performances all day long from some of the most talented kids in the bluegrass including dancers, martial artists, gymnasts and more. Best of all? IT'S FREE! Anti-Bullying Summer Camp - Santa Monica, CA
Anyone who watches the news regularly can tell you that bullying is an epidemic that has infected the learning experience for so many kids in schools that it must be taken seriously. Bullying can no longer be seen as a possibility, but an unfortunate eventuality. Relying on empathetic bystanders to step up in defense of bullied children is a wonderful idea, but it can be unreliable when a child is left to fend for themselves. So why not plant the seeds of self-confidence in your kids that upstanders have? What is an Upstander? An Upstander is someone who Stands Up for themselves or others when a bullying incident occurs. Most of them already possess empathy and courage, but aren't always equipped to handle the physical or emotional repercussions of their heroism. Teen Sewing Boot Camp - Edmonds, WA
Is your teen bored already? Sign him/her up for our week long beginning sewing boot camp running Monday through Friday, July 19 through 22 from 10 am to 2 pm daily. They will learn basic hand sewing techniques by hand making their own pin cushion and then graduate to sewing a pillowcase, pajama pants a skirt and other cool stuff., including getting to participate in a community project. You will need to bring your own sewing machine if you have one, and basic sewing supplies. A list of fabrics and notions will be sent to you once you have registered. Cost is $100.
