Awesome Artist Campers will explore every medium, create art and be inspired by artists new and old, the masters and the contemporary. If you learn from the best, you too can become an Awesome Artist! Get a jump on the upcoming season! Prepare for the season now and receive individualized and team instruction on all phases of field hockey. Learn new drills and skills to take back to your school while making new friends from all over New England. Join Coach Brown-Denico and her staff of outstanding high school and college coaches. Learn team concepts and strategies for special situations. The positive approach of STIX Camp to learning the sport of field hockey, along with the highest quality instruction, ensures the best in learning and fun. Field Hockey - Wellington Gym
Welcome to Portledges first field hockey camp! The program will be run by two of the Locust Valley field hockey coaches, Karissa McGrory and Tammy Caramico. Your athlete will need a field hockey stick, mouthguard, shinguards, cleats, and goalie equipment (if you are a goalie!). Session 1 is for any girl looking to love the sport of field hockey. The session will focus on beginner skills such as stick work, shooting, positions, and offense vs. defense. Girls will learn the proper stick skills learned to become a future field hockey star. In addition to learning the proper sportsmanship skills needed to become a well rounded athlete. We recommend athletes joining us for the first session are new players ranging from grades 3-9. Session 2 is for any advanced athlete looking to get ready for preseason and the fall school season. It is recommended that girls are interested in playing on the JV and Varsity level. Athletes during this session will work on expanding their knowledge of the sport, increasing stick skills, and working on specific offense and defensive skills to push athletes to the next level! This class will consist of daily bike rides to different places to participate in a variety of sporting activities such as visiting local parks and playing soccer, frisbee golf, and organized games. Biking helps both aerobic conditioning and muscle strength. Students must bring a bike, helmet, water bottle, snack and sunscreen. I am originally from India and I have been a resident of Happy Valley for more than 11yrs now. My family and I love this town. Let me tell you a little bit about my family and myself. I have a Masters degree in Plant Pathology from India and an associate degree in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from Penn State. I used to work with Young Scholars couple of years back and had a wonderful experience during my time there. My husband is a physician and works with Geisinger and we have two boys. Sajal, 19 has graduated from SCASD in 2014 and attends Brown University and Rohan, 13 will be starting 8th grade in the fall. I am extremely excited to work in the club! 8142379727.0
