Want to work outside this summer? Are you an outdoor program looking for potential employees? Come to the University of New Hampshire's annual Outdoor Jobs and Camp Fair Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Granite State Room of the Memorial Union Building at UNH. More than 40 employers representing non-profit outdoor and environmental agencies, commercial outfitters, summer camps and international travel companies will attend this year's fair to recruit summer and full-time employees. Some representatives conduct on-the-spot interviews. The fair, which is free for job seekers and open to the public, attracts more than 400 students and others from diverse academic fields, including outdoor education, nursing, natural resources, recreation management, theatre arts, business, and equine sciences. Botetourt County and The Golf Academy at Ashley have joined forces to offer summer Junior Golf Camps. From the registraiton fees of $165.00 ($50 deposit, $115.00 payable at camp), each child will receive: 12 hours of professional group instruction by Jeff Sprinkel , Ashley Plantation logo shirt, use of range balls, entry fee and green fee for tournament, daily prizes and tournament prizes, free camp group picture, video instruction, PGA Junior Golf Foundation Membership Card, Rules of Golf booklet, PGA Junior Golf Foundation Certificate, reduced green fees outside camp sessions, free awards cookout on Friday and a full agenda of golfing activities. 7-12 Owl Pride Team Football Camp - SHS Stadium
Owl Pride Team Camp is for all student-athletes interested in playing football who will be in grades 7-12 during the 2016-2017 school year. Campers should bring athletic wear and football cleats to camp. Pre-registered campers will receive a camp shirt and water bottle. Walk-up registration will be accepted, but shirts and water bottles will not be guaranteed and will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Shining Stars - Musical Theatre (July 11) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This camp gives young performers a chance to experience being in a theatrical production, focusing on individual and group creativity while working collaboratively as a team. Students will play theatrically based games and work hard on learning and rehearsing for a show. This camp also allows students to experience the rehearsal process and is a great way to prepare them to be a part of a full length play or musical in school or in the community. The campers will participate in a musical through learning songs, dances, and scenes for them to perform as a whole by the end of the session. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home.
