The Super Heroes need your help to save the day! Create motorized vehicles using LEGO® components for the heroes to ride. Make the Batmobile, a flying craft for Supergirl, Captain Americas motorcycle, Iron Mans Quinjet, and the perfect ride for Spiderman. Each day, students have a mission to accomplish with the help of the project they build. We provide step-by-step instructions so students can incorporate motors and gears into their creations. Students then customize their projects and proceed on their missions. Students learn about the following mechanisms and systems as they build and play with their projects: •How gears control the speed and torque (power) of vehicles •How pulley systems transfer power to move objects •How you can change the direction of movement with bevel gears •How liftarms can be used to make strong attachments and add cool designs to creations •How to build fast-moving vehicles that stay together in crash tests •How to make Super Hero minifigures leap ten times their length in a single bound (really)! My son loved Camp Broad Rock. There was a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for my 12 year old son to choose from at this camp. This camp is for children from preschool through grade 12. Unlike other camps, Camp Broad Rock has an indoor aquatic center. My son was excited to know he could swim regardless of what the weather was like outdoors. The Lakeland PAL Youth is proud to partner with NFL superstars Michael and Maurkice Pouncey to host the 6th Annual Pouncey Twins Youth Football Camp on Saturday July 9, 2016. The free camp will take place from 8AM – 12PM at Lakeland Christian School, located at 1111 Forest Park Street. Boys and girls ages six to sixteen are invited to come develop their football skills with help from NFL players and coaches from across Polk County. To guarantee a spot, parents must pre-register their child. Equestrian Camps - Horseback Riding - Camp Olympia
Children will ride twice a day 4 times per week, swim every day, and do various unmounted horse activities including leading horses, unsaddling, grooming, bathing, cleaning tack, plus general barn responsibilities. There is no riding on Thursdays (horses much deserved day off- try running around in 90+ degree weather with a fur coat on), but the kids will have unmounted horse activities such as those listed above and have the opportunity to play Camp Game, traditional favorite. Long pants, smooth, hard soled shoes, bathing suit, towel, and lunch are needed every day. All camp forms must be completed and received by Camp Olympia before camper can attend this program. Trained game masters from NuMinds and Creative Role Play Academy help guide participants safely through the MERP (Massively Epic Role Play) experience. Quickly learn the rules of MERP and get the guidelines for the day, then form your tribe and enter a portal to a dimension of limitless adventure, all within the beautiful, enclosed confines of the St. Philips Academy. Learning how to play instruments fosters self-expression, boosts listening skills, and enhances coordination. This new class is offered as an introduction for students to learn the basics of playing the piano and piano skills. Previous knowledge of playing is not required. It is open for both JAC and non-JAC students. Classes are 1-on-1 and last 15 minutes. The Enrichment Program will coordinate with JAC to transfer students to and from their lessons. Please note, however, the Janney Enrichment Program cannot provide supervision for non-JAC students after 3:30 PM. Students who are in a different class until 4:30 can be supervised to attend a piano class at 4:30 or 4:55. The West Fargo Park District is offering a summer youth volleyball camp for boys and girls ages 8-12. Participants will be taught fundamental skills such as serving, hitting, passing, blocking and setting. Participants need to wear athletic shoes and appropriate clothing. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Instructors will be local college volleyball players. It is recommended that participants bring water bottles with them each day.
