Hey, I like my house.. but I like yours more. Think Ill take it! Yep, thats a hermit crab for you - always taking your stuff! Lets capture a few of them and see what shells they prefer and why. Does a hermit prefer a sturdy fortress of a shell or a light easy-to-run with shell? Well track them by their trails and see where they go. Then of course, we have to build our own houses - light or sturdy- and protect them from other marauding hermits. And by the way, whats the difference between an ocean hermit crab and a land hermit crab? And have you ever seen pictures of crazy-big land crabs that use coconuts for shells?!! You will. Online registration only please. Budding Naturalists, ages 3 & 4 with adult. June 17, 30 or July 29 from 8:30am-noon at Oak Grove Park Herps Alive! for ages 5 & 6. June 14-15, 9am-noon; June 14-15, 1pm-4pm; June 23-24, 1pm-4pm at Oak Grove Park Adventure Camp, ages 7-9. June 21-22; June 28-29; July 13-14; July 27-28 from 9am-2pm at Oak Grove Park. Introduction to Shooting, ages 10-12. July 19-20; July 21-22 from 9am-3pm, Big Sioux Recreation Area south of Hawarden. Hunter Education Overnight Camp ages 13-15. Early Reader Program - Valle Verde Elementary
Classroom: D-8 Instructor: Active Reading Center () This reading class is designed for first and second grade students who have difficulty learning to read in traditional environments. We utilize play activities that help emerging readers learn letter sounds, and blend those sounds into words. All teaching is done by trained teachers from the Active Reading Center. A brief evaluation of each students abilities will be provided at the end of the session. Students may be recommended for work with a reading teacher on a one-on-one basis. Utilize Redstone to increase creativity, and learn file editing, cyber security, and safe internet browsing techniques. Campers will implement some of the most popular Minecraft mods including Biomes OPlenty, Decocraft, Twilight Forest, Optifine, Pixelmon, as well as mods of the campers choice!
