The Hope Soccer Day Camp is designed for players of various ages and ability levels. Campers ages 6 to 14 choose the Hope Soccer Day camp for the fun and educational experience that focuses on developing fundamental skills, teamwork and developing a love for the game of soccer. Players attending the camp are divided into groups by age and ability level. This structure allows the coaching staff to create a learning environment that challenges each child with appropriate instruction and engaging game environments. Throughout the week the campers build strong relationships with their coaches and teammates. Our experience with Camp Twin Creeks in Marlinton was awesome. When we got there to drop off the kids, we realized that the staff was so diverse in their nationalities that my kids would feel so welcome and fit right in. The staff seemed to be having as good of a time as the kids and my kids walked away with many new friendships. They are already talking about next summer and seeing their friends again. Admission is free (there are areas to make a donation towards the Laura Foundation). There is a fee for rides and the food court items.

Footsteps Mandarin Immersion Summer Camp is an opportunity for extended Mandarin immersion. While having a fantastic time, your child will begin to acquire the ability to use Mandarin correctly and confidently in various daily tasks and social situations. Our dynamic, experienced staff is either native speaking or fluent. Campers spend each day moving from one activity to the next, designed to provide an immersion experience while still allowing for a ton of fun. Your child will love exploring the language and traditions of China by tasting authentic Mandarin cuisine—using Chinese words, of course, and learning about and creating traditional Mandarin arts and textiles and taking field trips to expand your childs knowledge. A week or more of camp will help boost your childs language ability! There is a weekly field trip and special event. Two healthy snacks are provided each day. Calling all junior adventurers for another summer of discoveries! In this half-day camp, your sons will enjoy all that The Heights campus has to offer. With beautiful stands of native tree species, numerous bird boxes, and a room full of past discoveries, there will be no lack for exciting new areas of learning. Two days will be dedicated to the animal kingdom – mammals, insects, reptiles and more. Another will focus on seeds and plants. – we cant live without them! Two days will also be devoted to experiments and discovery, bringing their knowledge to life. In the course of daily adventures around campus, campers will climb the trees theyve heard about and capture the insects theyve drawn. With a take-home booklet filled with artistic learning exercises, your son will be drawing on his discoveries from this camp for years to come! Staff: Peter Vitz, 4th grade homeroom teacher, has taught natural history at The Heights for 5 years. Contact: Peter Vitz at The Heights School, Notes: Usual dress is normal summer attire. Sounds of Silence is a guided program designed specifically for infants to two year old children. It is a time for parent and child to leave the noisy, often over-stimulated world and connect through gestures, body language and facial expressions. The class moves slowly and calmly creating a safe, relaxing environment for very little people to experience our ranch and the wonders of Mother Nature. With no chit-chatting from the adults, there is a distinct and beautiful emphasis on what each child is noticing and how they are interacting with that plant, rock, animal or new friend. Throughout Sounds of Silence, the Barn Faerie shows and models a myriad of ways to support you and your young child in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and awakening to the natural world.
