Campers are taught true science such as the scientific method, anatomy, and entomology while engaging in a gross science activity. Greetings, friends! We want you to be a part of the Fox 61 “Send a Kid to Camp” Phone Bank, benefiting Hartford’s Camp Courant. The Phone Bank will air live from Fox 61 and WCCT (CW) on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 beginning from 9a.m. to 10a.m. and then returning from 4p.m. to 7p.m. Your support of this campaign will help Hartford’s Camp Courant and Fox 61 further their missions to support education-based programs for children throughout the greater Hartford community. Our goal is to raise $100,000 during the live four-hour televised fundraiser, which will help to enhance the summer experience for nearly 1,000 Hartford children this year. We have a long standing, aligned and focused partnership with Fox 61 who is dedicated to making a positive difference. Everything they do in the community will link directly to their mission of HOPE (Helping Organizations Promote Education) where they will focus their resources to maximize impact. Arby's is doing it again for the third year but at Arby's location. This year we will be holding different event at the Hope Mills Location to raise money for the No Kid Go Hungry Campaign from August 18 -September 28, 2015. Since 2011, the Arby's Foundation has been a national charity partner of Share Our Strength*s No Kid Hungry* campaign (NKH). As NKH's largest quick service restaurant partner, the Arby's Foundation has raised over $5 million in the past two years to support NKH and other hunger-fighting organizations in the communities that Arby's serves. Outdoor exploration and basics of ecology are the focus of this week. Well explore the woods, prairie and wet areas. Campers will roll logs looking for slugs and centipedes and learn why dark, damp places are important. Theyll wade in the water to net tadpoles and frogs - discovering that muddy and polluted water are different. Well crawl through the tall grasses to get a bugs eye view of the world. This is a hands-on, mind-on, and mud-on camp!
