For kids entering 1st-5th grades. Cost is only $15 and includes snacks and a shirt. Camp will be held June 8-11, from 9-11:30AM at Delta Hight School (1400 Pioneer Road.) Junior Firefighters - Kids Discovery Museum
KiDiMu crew to the rescue! Join Our Towns Fire Department to put out imaginary fires and get ready for real life emergencies. Get tips from the Bainbridge Island Fire Department team. Visit the Bainbridge Island Police Department and learn how the two crews often work together. From exploring stories, making emergency plans and first aid kits to training their bodies through obstacle courses and games, campers will get a taste of firefighters daily adventures. Artists in Residence II with Nelli Shevelkina & Connie Pfeiffer (Ages 7-14) - Young People
Folk Art Around The World with Nellie Shevelkina Go Global! Learn about different cultures through their arts. We will travel from Africa to the Americas, Europe to Asia, Australia and in between discovering traditional folk arts from around the world. Explore the history, techniques, and special meanings of various crafts while noticing similarities and differences in their designs, patterns, and styles. We will create mosaics, painted and printed fabrics, sand paintings, mask making, paper maché figurines, paper cutouts, clay whistles, just to name a few. Students are encouraged to research their own cultural and ethnic backgrounds and proudly share these artistic traditions with the class. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal. Fashion Illustration for Teens - Lower School
This class is specially designed with teens who enjoy fashion. We will explore the many stages of everyday lives through fashion illustrations, beginning with the basic fashion figures (croquis) and color, using multiple mediums, including prints, fabric and textiles, students will imagine how they would dress for current and future life events, and also gain an understanding of the fashion industry, as well as the impact of technology on fashion. Through class discussions, books, films, and documentaries, students will gain a greater understanding of the fashion world and illustration as a form of self expression. Lego Lover Fun with Tedi Fagan - St. Davids School
Are you a lover of Legos? If you like to build and create with LEGOS, then, this is the camp for you! Join Mrs. Fagan and friends for a fun-filled morning of creating and building with different Legos and Lego kits the entire week! We will take construction breaks long enough to have a snack. So, get ready to have some LEGO Fun! This camp will include lunch from 12-1. Please be sure to pack your lunch for camp so you can keep having fun as long as possible before its time to go!
