This camp will be an introduction to the potter's wheel! During this camp teens will have the opportunity to work in a professional ceramic studio using the same equipment that the pros use. The camp will begin with centering the clay and creating basic forms, such as bowls, cups and vases. We will spend time learning how to trim and finish the pots. Intermediate and advanced students will be encouraged to design their own projects in a direction of their own choosing. Expand your knowledge of wheel throwing, hand building, and sculpture. Printmaking Studio with Ann Cheeks - Ah Haa School for the Arts
Explore some traditional printmaking techniques, from linocuts to monoprints. Students will learn how to create unique, handmade artwork for personal cards, gifts, posters or wall art. The workshop will introduce students to linocut techniques, the process of carving into soft printing blocks with linoleum cutters and printing with water-soluble inks. Monoprint techniques will also be taught for creating looser, more abstract images. All students should come away with no fewer than five images from printmaking techniques, and the skills to create more on their own with a few low-cost tools. Brings your young epicureans enthusiasm for all things cooking back to the source of the ingredients: land, soil, seeds, animals, plants and more. Campers will explore how to grow and cook a farm-fresh meal from the ground up using ingredients that are in season and locally grown in the Napa Valley. After getting their hands dirty learning how animals, soil, water and the sun work together to produce food for our tables, kids will wash up and commence cooking. Nothing tastes better than a meal that is freshly harvested out of the ground. Each week, a local chef will visit to share knowledge about farm-to-table cooking. Parents are invited to join their campers on Friday afternoons to sample what their kids have learned that week. 707-224-1894

And of course - we have to play in the water A LOT this week. Well find things with our masks blacked out by echolocation and well play Capture the Fish!
