Send a Deweyville Pre-Teen to camp - Odessa, TX
Butch's Sunday School Class is collecting spare change to send a pre-teen from First Baptist Church of Deweyville, TX (a suburb of Houston) that was devestated by the flooding last week to Highland Lakes Camp this summer. Normally the church raises funds by having fundraisers but as you can see...they will have to devote all their time to restoring the church. Chapel Hill's youth have attended this camp several times in the past with great spiritual success.

Natures Navigators - E. O. Wilson Biophilia Center
This summer camp adventure starts with creative nature inspired art lessons in the morning and Biophilia adventures in the afternoon. Finally end your day with museum discovery time! Campers will become eco-explorers on a scavenger hunt, learn to use a compass, and hunt for clues throughout the Biophilia Center! Wear/Bring Closed Toed Shoes for the Adventure! Algebra Bridge Class - TRINITY ACADEMY
This class is for the student who has completed Algebra I and wants to reinforce those skills before entering Geometry or Algebra II. There will be particular emphasis on the second semester Algebra I concepts that typically cause students difficulty. Items covered will include the following: solving and rearranging equations, slope, writing equations of lines, solving systems of equations, simplifying exponents, multiplying binomials (FOIL) reducing radical expressions, and factoring. Students are expected to take notes, work on in-class assignments, and should be prepared to complete some assignments at home. Machines and Mechanisms Grades 3-5 (Friday) - Janney Elementary School
Students work in small groups to explore pulleys, gears, and levers. They complete problem solving activities using physics and math and work on structures that require precision. Students also test and use the scientific method to determine which modifications will optimize their machine. These machines are powered by a battery pack. Instructed by Griot Chess. 202-724-8950

Spring Break Hardware Hacking - LMHQ
Come get a taste of hardware hacking and electronics in our 3-day spring break Arduino & Electronics Workshop. Were very excited to introduce students to working with microprocessors, sensors, motors, and other amazing tools. By the end of this course, students will know how to build basic circuits connected to their Arduinos, and will be able to write code to control their hardware using the Arduino IDE. This is a great option for students wanting to get a taste of code, hardware, and electrical engineering over their spring break! Students will get their own Arudino kits (which they can keep at the end of the course) and will work in small groups to build and explore the world of Arduino sensors and actuators.
