Junior Winds Camp 7/25-7/29 - New Jersey Youth Symphony
This camp will focus on fundamentals and strengthening the skills of young wind and brass players as well as performance. Students will work on two instruments their "major" instrument that they have been playing, and a "minor" wind or brass instrument of their choosing. Secondary instruments will be provided. The day will start with sectionals and technical fundamentals, after a snack and time playing musical Jeopardy and other games, campers will wrap up playing in the full ensemble. Six months playing experience required. Some 4th graders may be eligible to enroll with director approval. This camp takes place at 570 Central Avenue in New Providence. Acoma Bears A, Full Day - Hopkins Campus
Join Camp Acoma Bears for a summer of action, creation and relaxation in six unique sessions. Local field trips serve as capstones and opportunities for more hands-on learning and adventure. A foundation of Camp Acoma is developing strong relationships with other campers and counselors. Blake faculty and counselors who are caring role models with unique talents lead Camp Acoma. Our counselor-to-student ratio is below 1:8. Dedicated arts and physical education faculty deepen athletic and artistic experiences throughout each session. Please pack a nut-free lunch, afternoon snack and water bottle for your child each day. Refrigerators and microwaves are not available. Camp Acoma Bears takes full advantage of Blakes rolling acres, pool (Hopkins campus only), gymnasium, ice arena (Hopkins campus only) and nearby lakes. Each session offers hours of swimming lessons and water-based activities. A personalized swim assessment guides the instruction of each child and Red Cross Certified lifeguards serve as instructors. New or reluctant swimmers will be guided gently in water adjustment and learn-to-swim exercises. Ice skating in Blakes arena will be offered twice a week (Hopkins campus only). Youth Golf Camp - Ages 11-13 - 286 West County Road C
Learn the fundamentals of golf. Work on grip, stance swing and putting. Four 1-hour sessions, first two sessions at Acorn Park - County Road C between Dale & Rice Street, third lesson at the U of MN driving range, fourth session at Cedarholm Golf Course putting green.
