Free Summer Horse Day Camp for Kids, Week 8 of 9 - Lacomb, OR
This is not your typical day camp! Kids learn how to get big jobs done and earn big rewards through our framework of barn, garden, and community activities. Our mixture of work, learning, and play develops character, leadership, and real-world skills. Kids start the morning cleaning stalls and doing other jobs, then have a well-supervised fellowship lunch, then ride or do other horse activities in the afternoon. For the kids that are interested in doing other things doing the horsemanship time, we have interesting building or maintenance projects as well as gardening. Sometimes we have someone come share an aspect of their career, or we will go on a field trip to a business, and sometimes we need to go pick up hay or other donations as part of the camp day. Toward the end of the day as parents arrive, we usually do a short devotion that gives kids the chance to tell how they illustrated a positive characteristic that day. Parents and kids should attend a 90-minute tour and orientation prior to enrolling, you just call us and schedule a time. Girls Outdoor Adventure Sampler - Positive Energy Outdoors
Looking for an all-girls outdoor adventure this summer? The Positive Energy Girls Outdoor Adventure Sampler creates a unique opportunity for girls to have fun developing skills in a variety of outdoor pursuits. Our focus is on supporting girls to develop positive images of themselves, their abilities, and their connection to the outdoor world. Camp activities will include rock climbing, watersports (kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming), working with our draft horse team, hiking, cooking in a solar oven and meeting Positive Energys kennel of sled dogs. The children will be introduced to the basic elements of music through singing and movement in a fun and creative way. The class activities will include singing, listening, coloring to music, movement, fun musical games and improvisation, and exploring Orff instruments and learning about rhythm, tempo, measure and notes. 2016 Stanford Synchro Swim Camp - Day - Stanford Athletics
Stanford Synchro Swim Camp will allow coaches the opportunity to work with and observe Olympic medalists, National Team coaches and coaches of the Stanford University Synchronized Swim Team. During this camp, athletes will focus on and learn the importance of injury prevention based land training, sport-specific muscle strengthening, and translation of these elements into the water. They will learn the technical warm-up Stanford Synchro athletes use to train, and a short Stanford Synchro routine to perform at the end of camp. 800-357-7687
Falcon Soccer Camp - RSU5 Recreation and Community Education
Kick off the summer with this fun and educational soccer camp. Campers will learn about passing, trapping, shooting, dribbling, and gain a better understanding of the correct terminology and rules of the game of soccer. Campers will be divided by age/skill and participate in fun drills and small sided games. Players should come with shin guards, cleats, and a water bottle. Participants should also bring sneakers for the FHS gym in case of inclement weather. Camp Director Joe Heathco is the FHS Varsity Boys Soccer Coach, USSF D license holder, 1st Aid/CPR certified, 2005 Maine Soccer Coaches and Forecaster Coach of the Year and has over 20 years of coaching experience. Of course, no week of Mountain Kids would be complete without moments of serendipity where we get curious and learn from nature and play.
