Bridge Care is a way for you to customize a camp experience that fits your schedule and your child?s interests. Bridge Care gives the opportunity for parents to add an additional lunch hour to their half day camp OR piece together an AM and PM camp of their choice. Children will be walked from their morning camp options to the Red Morton Community Center where they will eat lunch in an enclosed room and play yard from 12-1pm. Children will then be walked to their afternoon camp option by our staff. Returning to Teen Camp - undefined, CA
In the summer of 2014, I did something I never really thought I was called to do: work with TEENS. Being 21 at the time, I still considered myself one. Me? Being paired up with a 14-year old girl? Confronting normal teen issues paired with the difficulty that comes hand in hand while being in the foster system? Definitely a challenge. Not just zip-ling fun and games. (Also, I came home with crutches that year. FROM TRIPPING IN THE CAFETERIA. Hangry?) However, seeing how camp is something these kids/teens look forward to every year and how a weekend in the woods reminds them they are loved and adored is invaluable. Being with older and wiser counselors also inspired me because seeing the way they love unconditionally inspires me to not be selfish with my time and personal ambitions. These kids, this camp. It means something. A safe place with the ability to change lives long term. I'm proud to say that I'm returning to Teen Camp this year and it would be amazing to share the stories from last time with you (when I get a blog post up.) Summer 4-6 Year Old Camp #2 - Island City, OR
This camp will be 3 days long and 2 hours per day. We will be working on Walk, Trot, Posting, Leading, Haltering, Steering, Grooming, Parts of the Saddle, Bridle and Horse, and fun trivia about care of ponies/horses. Every kid learns at their own pace. I am here to teach them about horses and riding, while being safe and aware. If they are soaring, I let them soar and will continue teaching them new things. If they need to slow down and work on some smaller things, then they get to. This young age group is here to learn and have fun doing it. This class will explore all the interesting ways to create with and use paper. Students will be getting their hands dirty making their own paper. They will create their own stencils, bind their own journals, and create Calder inspired mobiles. Welcome to Hogwarts Americana-the American extension of Hogwarts. Campers will be immersed in the fictional world of Harry Potter. They will start off by being sorted into one of four houses-Paladorn, Grizelstorm, Embredor or Firesong. During this magical week, students will experience Potion Making, Charms, Muggle Magic, Care of Magical Creatures, Quidditch and plenty of games that will give them chances to earn points for their houses. Who will win the house cup? Campers should bring a lunch and snack daily except on Friday when will will provide food for the End of Term Feast! Instructor: Twila Brock Beginning and advanced beginner students will have the opportunity to continue developing their skills in the various approaches to throwing functional ware on the wheel under the guidance of Twila Brock who specializes in this area. Instruction will be focused on basic techniques. Forms will be thrown, altered, and assembled to create various vessels. Projects will be tailored to the students skill level. Glazing techniques will also be addressed. Students must provide a clean towel each week. Saint Frances Cabrini School 2016 Spring Production "Suessical Jr." Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Hortons challenge is twofold - not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg thats been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
