Teen Eastern Chinese Bible Conference 2016 - Fishkill, NY
AN INVITATION FROM THE CHAIR Teen Eastern Chinese Bible Conference is a place where high school students from all over New York and New Jersey gather for a weekend of learning about following Jesus, community, and fun. Our committee is led by AMAZING high school students and adult volunteers who have spent the past year planning and praying about the upcoming conference in May. Election Day Camp- Kids - Lafayette, LA
School is out for Election Day! Don’t stress, Nutty Scientists has you covered with an All-Day Camp filled with Interactive Workshops, Scienceful Art Projects, and Cool Inventions! You can either purchase camp time by the hour for $5 per hour or you can purchase the whole day! $45 w/ Lunch/Snack/Juice. $40 w/ NO Lunch/Snack/ Nor Juice. Lunch will be Pepperoni or Cheese Pizza and we will supply juice and snack. If you select the NO LUNCH option you MUST provide Lunch & Snack. We have a water fountain but you may also send juice or water! PLEASE do not send any type of nuts to Nutty Scientists with your child. We have many little ones with nut allergies! If you are registering hourly, choose number of tickets per hour you are registering for. Example: You want 3 hours, select 3 tickets next to hourly pass. Ages accepted is 5-11! Time: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm 9:00am – 10:00am is drop off. The door will remain locked until 9:00am. This is considered an “early drop-off” to cater to more parents getting to work. Does your camper enjoy watching Chopped or Iron Chef on T.V.? Chefology is a perfect adventure for any child who loves to eat and wants to learn to cook! Activities and cooking experiments allow aspiring chefs to explore the science behind cooking and try different foods. Chefs will prep ingredients, cook, bake, follow a recipe, discover changes in food properties and take home extras to share with their families when available. This is a course for beginning Chefs and will include a variety of DELICIOUS breakfast, lunch/dinner and dessert recipes using REAL foods. Recipes may vary based on location facilities available. Teacher: Pam Peters Theres nothing like some time in the great outdoors. Pam will lead children through and adventure in art exploring nature and outdoor themes. They will incorporate items they find in the outdoors on nature walks during camp or those they find on their own. The projects will also include creating from clay, which will be fired and painted or glazed. Other materials for projects will include fabric, recycled materials, beads, buttons, wood. Folk Art Around The World with Nellie Shevelkina Go Global! Learn about different cultures through their arts. We will travel from Africa to the Americas, Europe to Asia, Australia and in between discovering traditional folk arts from around the world. Explore the history, techniques, and special meanings of various crafts while noticing similarities and differences in their designs, patterns, and styles. We will create mosaics, painted and printed fabrics, sand paintings, mask making, paper maché figurines, paper cutouts, clay whistles, just to name a few. Students are encouraged to research their own cultural and ethnic backgrounds and proudly share these artistic traditions with the class. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal.
