You Can't Go Wrong With the Y
With a name like Camp Thunderbird, how could you go wrong? Our son had such a wonderful time. The pictures of his water skiing are the best! He was also very excited about the sailing lessons and has been going around the house tying everything into proper knots. Before we enrolled our boy we were given a complete tour of the grounds and had an opportunity to meet a lot of the staff. Everyone was friendly and professional. I knew our boy would be taken... As we experience true love–a love that is there in the hard times as well as the good, a love that is there when we’re doing well or when we are failing, a love that will walk with us through healing as well as celebrate our victories–that is when we find true freedom. This kind of love is only found in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This will be a weekend of finding this kind of love as our speaker, Kevin Butcher, guides us through this topic. Join us for a weekend of fun community and spiritual growth as we head to Angola, Indiana for this year's Fall Getaway! Check is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14th. We'll have times of Biblical teaching and heartful worship, as well as plenty of time to just hang out and have fun together. And if you need to study, there is time for that too. We'll head back to campus after lunch on Sunday, October 16th. The cost is $60 for Freshmen and $80 for everyone else! Kids will learn and utilize important skills such as Team building, strategizing, leadership and collaboration in a fun and high energy enviroment. Summer Camp - Full Day - Week 4 - Mockingbird Baby
Morning: Olympic Robot Games Discover how it feels to Go for the Gold as you and your teammates compete in a handful of sports for this class of Robotic Olympics. Each event/sport will test your robots structural integrity and maneuverability. At the same time, coach your robots with wireless technology while being put to the test. Using gears, pulleys and varying degrees of traction, students will build robotic athletes. We will compete at soccer, kickball, jousting, wrestling, a MYSTERY Sport and a race across the finish line. Sportsmanship and Robotic Competition Rule! Afternoon: Impossible Search & Rescue Teams in this class have accepted the challenge to be the first responder in circumstances of extreme weather, danger, abandonment and quarantine. These victims need: robots that can climb up ropes to rescue Lego Mini Figure victims, rovers that can drive through and over any obstacle, and so much more. We want to know if your robot can save the day. Note: Even though between some weekly sessions there might appear the same program names, in our actual education program, we will have different depth of technology and engineering principles to be applied by our children under our inspirational guidance... Learn how to be a rockstar! Are you a guitarist, bass player, keyboardist, or singer with a year or more of experience? Then this is the camp for you! Gary Backstrom, lead guitarist for Jiggle the Handle and currently touring with the Gary Backstrom Band, will be supplying the beats of classic rock and R&B. Campers will learn the basics of technique, music theory, and the dynamics of playing in a group, and work toward a final performance at the end of the week. Rock on! 978 525 6244

Male and female swimmers (ages 8-18) of any ability level are welcome. It is highly recommended, but not required, that swimmers have competitive experience prior to attending. Camp space is available on a first come – first serve basis. A $150 non-refundable deposit for each session attended (applicable to the camp fee) and registration form or on-line registration record is required. An information packet is e-mailed with required forms upon completion of registration. Shooting Basics is the first of 3 programs under the Shooting Fundamentals Series. Designed to help athletes develop or improve their shooting form. Shooting Basics will teach players correct footwork, body positioning and ball placement as they execute shots from various positions on the court. Step in shots, shots off the dribble and off the catch will be the concentration in this program. Players will also work on range shooting and free throw positioning and routine. Each player will build the muscle memory to consistently shoot with control and confidence. Once players complete this program they will be able to enroll in the second program under the Shooting Fundamentals Block - Shot Breakdown. Program consists of 6 - 1 hour sessions.
