Elite Camp Session - (Boys) - Van Andel Soccer Stadium - Hope College
The Elite Camp provides an intense, rewarding, and fun experience for campers. The camps unique curriculum balances instructional sessions and live match situations each day. This combination of training and playing helps campers transfer the skills and tactics developed into game play. Each camper is assigned to a team upon arrival at camp. Server Design - Building A
In this camp from Youth Digital, kids learn professional Java programming as they design and build their customized Minecraft server that they can share with friends. At the end of camp, kids walk away with a playable, shareable Minecraft server that they built from scratch. Theyll also be able to access the online version of the course after camp, including video tutorials, interactive quizzes, and new challenges. Kids will learn the basics of one of the most popular coding languages in the world as they modify real Java code to build their Minecraft server. During camp, kids will master introductory computer programming concepts including methods and parameters, if-then statements, and more. Theyll also learn to use a pro-level Java development tool to build their server. Teen Wheel-Throwing - Ashtonn Means - The Art Center
Whether youve never touched clay before, thrown just one time, or have experience throwing, this is the class for all teens 14-18! Throughout this course students will learn the skills behind wheel-throwing, glaze application, and a basic understanding of Cone 10 materials and firing, as well as design principles for functional pottery, fundamentals of form, and aesthetic design techniques. Every class will have demonstrations, hands-on projects, and one-on-one guidance on the wheel-throwing process. Students are strongly encouraged to be self-directed and to bring project ideas and learning goals to work on throughout the eight-week course. She continues to study at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts and is a member of the Grand Junction Clay Arts Guild. A senior at Colorado Mesa University, Ashtonn will graduate in May 2016 with a BFA in Studio Art and a minor in Psychology. Performance art is a catalyst in her pottery for the decorative design elements—slip trailing, stamping, glaze color, form—applied to the pieces. Week 2: Design/Build for Social Impact - REALM Charter High School
Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm Pick-up begins: 8:45am Drop-off ends: 4:15pm Girls will design and build furniture projects for the Womens Daytime Drop-In Center, a local safe haven which offers free services to homeless women and their children. Along the way, girls will learn skills in woodworking, welding, fabrication, and masonry to design a meaningful project for their community, to work in multiple materials, and bring ideas to life. Please note: Week 1 and 2 will offer the same content. Please enroll in only one. Snacks will be provided. Full lunch option is available at an additional $25 cost. Enrollment is limited to 20 girls. This is our History 2 week. This week we will be moving around the Bay Area taking daily field trips while using public transportation to navigate our way. The week will be comprised of the schedule below*. Day 1: Fort Point/City Hall Day 2: Wells Fargo Museum/Cable Car Museum Day 3: SF Dungeon/Wax museum and Boudin Bread Factory Tour Day 4: Angel Island/US Immigration Station/China Town back alley tour Day 5: USS Pampanito/ SS Jeremiah OBrien (Days may not be in the specific order above) We meet at Rockridge BART station every morning at 8 AM then travel the city to our destination or destinations.
