Come out and learn Cheerleading under the direction of an multi award winning coach and NCS Varsity squad. Coach Amanda Beery has led her team to FCC National Championships, coached girls to win Individual and Team performance awards. During this week of camp campers will learn skills that emphasize proper form and as well as safety. Stunting: Starting with low-level skills such as thigh stands and progressing to semi-advanced stunts. Tumbling: Cartwheels, handstands and round offs. Those with a solid tumbling background will work on back handspring technique. Motions: Learn all motions and the names for each arm placement with a focus on sharp and properly executed technique. Cheers: Cheers will be taught to the participants, implementing the skills learned at camp Dance: A dance will be taught utilizing the needed to excel in cheer dance. Jumps: Proper jump technique starting with basis approach and forms continuing through to advanced jumping. 757-274-6295

Climbing Camp - Advanced - Breckenridge Recreation Center
So youve been through our Beginner and Intermediate Climbing Camps and you still cant get enough? Then this camp is for you! We spend the first two days on the climbing wall learning some new skills and refreshing others from 8:00am-12:00pm. On Thursday and Friday, we depart Summit County for Independence Pass and Monitor Rock in beautiful Lake County for full days of climbing. On Thursday and Friday, campers depart Breckenridge at 8:00am and return to the Recreation Center at 4:00pm. All participants are responsible for lunch each day and are required to have a backpack, sunscreen, plenty of water (2L or more), rain gear and extra layers. No camp on Wednesdays. Four-day camps are offered in two sessions running June 20-July 29. To register for this program, participants must have attended an Intermediate Climbing Camp within the past 3 years or must receive approval from a Climbing Wall Instructor or the Outdoor Programs Coordinator. Maple sugaring adventure! - Common Ground
Maple sugaring: February and March are sugaring season in Connecticut! The sap flows strongly on sunny mornings when it is just above freezing. Hopefully we will catch a sap run and taste some sap right from the tree! We will check out the Sugar Shack and see where the sap is boiled into syrup, make and eat some maple treats, and explore the forest for signs of spring. ********************************************************** Who: these classes are for children of all ages with a parent or caregiver (no drop-off option available for winter classes). Program fee: $15 for the first child ages 3 and up, $10 for each additional child (ages 3 and up). The sibling discount will be applied automatically when you register online. RailHawks professional defenders will teach fundamental skills of defending including individual body position, tackling, heading, and small-group defending tactics such as pressure, cover, and balance. After being taught the rules and basic skills of each game, counselors and supervisors will move out of the spotlight to allow campers to choose and organize their own games. This process gives students a chance to take ownership of their own play and make the decisions necessary for a successful game. Camp instructors will supervise all activities, but campers will be required to resolve conflicts, referee their own games, and motivate one another to engage robustly in each activity.
