Disc golf, also known as Folf, is a flying disc game, as well as a precision and accuracy sport, in which individual players throw a flying disc at a target, The object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc.The game is played in about 40 countries around the world. Come learn the basic rules of disc golf such as: Teeing off Establishing position Marking the lie Throwing from a stance Holing out Out of bounds Discs used in play Order of play Courtesy The week will end with a trip to the disc course in Hudson. Rogue Robots: LEGO Robotics Camp - San Angelo, TX
Robots aren’t just inventions in a galaxy far, far away— they exist here on Earth, at your local library! Join us this Winter Break for a Star Wars-themed robotics camp. Each day we’ll watch a clip from the movies, and build a LEGO robot inspired by the film. The library will be hosting two four-day camps—attending all four days is not mandatory, but each class will build upon the previous classes. No prior experience in LEGO robotics necessary, but seating is limited so RSVP is required. EXPLORERS DAY CAMP-Adventurers and Trailblazers - Germantown Friends School
The Explorers Day Camp offers five weeks of old-fashioned summertime fun, designed to develop campers curiosity and creativity through weekly theme-oriented sessions. Each week, Explorers will participate amazing activities designed by GFSs own LS art teacher Heather Chu Marvill and ASP Art Coordinator, Joli Harnish. In addition, campers will enjoy science, cooking, nature, and sports-related activities. The GFS campus will serve as the primary location for exploration and skill-building. Half-day field trips to nearby cultural destinations provide opportunities for hands-on learning and discovery. Campers will build confidence, forge new friendships, and grow through new experiences, all within a safe and fun-focused environment. Swims at the Germantown Cricket Club during weeks #1, #2, and #3 will add to the summertime fun and plans are in the works to include swimming for weeks #4 and #5 as well!
