Students should choose one of the three programs as their primary focus but will interact with the other two programs throughout the week. 1. Musical Theater Camp - Sears Gallery
Elgin Academys Musical Theater Camp combines all the components of a professional performance in a fun camp atmosphere! Camp will begin with auditions to help determine the campers current developmental and comfort levels in performance. All participants will be assigned a role to perform for a final presentation. Additionally, students will work together with staff to help create sets, costume pieces and props. Minecraft Programming Using LUA Using a custom mod called Computercraft, students will learn how to program robots called Turtles inside the world of Minecraft. Kids will utilize problem-solving skills by learning how to program their robots to complete various tasks such as programming their turtles to automatically build, mine, and craft items and structures. This is the first camp ever offered by Club SciKidz! Newly revised and more exciting than ever, campers learn the science behind Hollywoods special effects. Activities will demonstrate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion, and model building. One of the great features of this camp is that all campers will create (and take home!) a movie using techniques in Claymation and Stop-Motion Animation. Lessons include plot development, story boarding, set building, filming, and sound effects.
