Summer Camps in Jal, NM
Weve got a week to design motorized vehicles with LEGO® components that will take us around the globe in record time. Our projects and destinations include: •A speedy train to travel across the USA •An ultralight plane to fly from New York to Paris •A dunebuggy to race from Paris to Moscow •A dogsled to travel across eastern Russia •A sailboat to cross the Pacific and get to the finish line Students build motor-driven vehicles with LEGO® components, customize their projects and run them on missions. Our class keeps an eye on how our virtual race opponents are doing, and answers questions together at the end of each leg to gain extra mileage or place roadblocks to slow down the competition. This is a fun way to develop new building skills. Students learn how different vehicles work, how the size and placement of gears affect their projects power and speed, how pulley belts are used to transfer motion, how to make a trailer for vehicles, how wheels and axles work, and other science and engineering concepts. Students take home a LEGO® mini-build and camp T-shirt. Students do not take home the LEGO® projects or pieces from the class. This is... 206-466-6882

My son loves the counselors, coaches and teachers at this camp!
This camp has a rich tradition of over 99 years. My 10 year old son would not miss registering for this camp. He loves the location, which is by the water. He also enjoys the focus on developing athleticism, leadership and problem solving skills. Our son can’t say enough positive things about the camp counselors, teachers and coaches. We are truly impressed.... Read More...

School’s almost out, its time for the part of summer we always look forward to. Summer Camp has everything a stressed kid wants. New friends, new experiences, nature n shit. Break out those lanyards again, let’s see the tie dyed shirts and the bucket hats. It’s not everyday that the counselors invite the campers to drink with them, but this Saturday we invite you into our cabin to dance till the bonfire burns out, and start the summer correctly. First 20 guests get floaties. Our sexual assault policy is linked below. Please feel free to contact any brother at any time with any concern. Safety is our main priority and we aim to be an environment where everyone feels comfortable. http://tinyurl.com/zc2qxv4 $5 for dudes "This is on a bus back from camp. I’m thirteen and so are you. Before I left for camp I imagined it would be me and three or four other dudes I hadn’t met yet, running around all summer, getting into trouble. It turned out it would be me and just one girl. That’s you. And we’re still at camp as long as we’re on the bus and not at the pickup point where our parents would be...

Get a favor done & send a kid to camp! - Angelus Oaks, CA
Guess who's back volunteering with UniCamp? [UCLA UniCamp is a non-profit organization that sends youth from all over Los Angeles up for a week of camp to get away from everyday life for a bit and create the environments they want for themselves, "singing songs, playing games, and changing lives."] I know what you're thinking. "You graduated. What are you still doing here?" This is a question I had asked myself at one point before deciding to apply for camp this time around. This time…I want to do it right. I want to do it for the campers. Don’t get me wrong, my first year of camp back in 2013 was a blast. But I joined because I had a good time with the other volunteers and it was nice idea to be “doing good.” But youth aren’t just customers you can provide service for and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. As with any other human beings, youth are meant to be lifted up and recognized for the gifts they’ve always possessed. Through UniCamp, we are given the opportunity to be mentors and cheerleaders on their journeys of self-discovery and self-empowerment. While classic camp consists of 10-14 year olds,...

Ok, you arent thinking shells are ferocious are you? Youre thinking theyre beautiful and graceful? Well lightning whelks are beautiful and ferocious. Theyre also pretty fascinating! Lets snip open a lightning whelk egg case (youve probably seen one but didnt know what it was) and look at the hundreds of tiny whelks and the way they grow in a spiral. Lets do some spiralling art and dig down in the sand and pump water out the way whelks do. And lets look at how these creatures hunt! And for all you lefties out there, this is your shell! These whelks open to the left side while most of the other shells around here open to the right! (239) 472-8585
