LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Teen Wheel-Throwing - Ashtonn Means - The Art Center
Whether youve never touched clay before, thrown just one time, or have experience throwing, this is the class for all teens 14-18! Throughout this course students will learn the skills behind wheel-throwing, glaze application, and a basic understanding of Cone 10 materials and firing, as well as design principles for functional pottery, fundamentals of form, and aesthetic design techniques. Every class will have demonstrations, hands-on projects, and one-on-one guidance on the wheel-throwing process. Students are strongly encouraged to be self-directed and to bring project ideas and learning goals to work on throughout the eight-week course. Demonstrations will be geared toward students learning goals. See you there! Ashtonn Means is a Grand Junction native and has been doing ceramics since age thirteen. She continues to study at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts and is a member of the Grand Junction Clay Arts Guild. A senior at Colorado Mesa University, Ashtonn will graduate in May 2016 with a BFA in Studio Art and a minor in Psychology. Performance art is a catalyst in her pottery for the decorative design elements—slip trailing, stamping, glaze color, form—applied to the pieces. Hey everyone. I have been wanting to organize a trip to a couple beautiful places along the Mendocino coast. Their will be many stops where we can go take picture. And sight see some beautiful places along the the Ca-128 and ca-1. Most importantly im organizing a trip where we can all have lots of fun. Camp. And get to to know more fellow car people. Trip can go from friday night or morning, and last till sunday night. It will be a 2 day fun trip. Pm me or comment or post if anyone is willing.

Kid's Craft Camp: keeping your kiddos busy and learning with some fun yarn art! •Price per student: $25.00 includes supplies and snacks. •Kids 7-16 are welcome, we'll have simple projects as well as more complicated ones for the older ones. If your child is under 7, but capable of the craft being made them feel free to check with us (if they can tie their shoes than we'll have something they can do). •Please come in or call to reserve your spot by Tues. the 16th of Aug. so we can be prepared with supplies.

Please join us for the Wagner College Mens Lacrosse January Prospect Clinic! The clinic is a great opportunity for prospective student-athletes to improve as players and to learn what its like to be a college athlete. Youll also get the chance to meet head coach Matt Poskay, his assistants, and the Seahawk Lacrosse players who will also be working with you during the event. During the morning session, participants will work closely with Wagner coaches and players in order to further develop skills that will help them with both their high school and club lacrosse programs. During lunch, there will be an information session where participants will learn what its like to balance academics and athletics at the Division I level. Finally, during the afternoon field session, participants will have the opportunity to play and compete against other future college lacrosse players. Participants must bring all necessary equipment, including a mouth guard. Please bring a bag lunch as well. Water will be provided. (There will also be a voluntary campus tour begining after the clinic has been concluded.) 6312415142.0

It is an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of a production and to discover and develop theatrical and musical talents. The students in this camp learn music and dance and most importantly, how to work together and support one another to deliver a wonderful performance. The mission of this camp is to boost confidence and to build friendships through cooperative effort and fun. This summer we will go Under the Sea with The Little Mermaid. All ages will enjoy participating in this action-packed show!
