Yick, Yack, Yuck July 5th-8th 9am – 4pm (Ages 5 – 11) Monday – Friday Its the study of everything gross in this camp, as kids jump into the world of disgusting (I know…you say they are already there…)!! Its all things gooey, slimy, slippery…funky, ugly, and foul!!! All of the gross stuff that kids just LOVE! Kids will get down and dirty with lots of hands-on activities, and in this special edition of Grossology. For this camp kids will be rolling up their sleeves and getting elbow deep in the ultimate Yuck and Muck!! Campers will dissect owl pellets (dried up wads of owl vomit that the birds yack up periodically) looking for all the bits and bobs of what the owls have been eating. So, for those brave enough to pick through them, there are treasures to be found! Get the scoop about animal poop and even make edible poo (ewwww GROSS), and if that doesnt do it for you then its slime time with edible glow in the dark slime. Learn about animals that have slime for defenses. Interact with slimy toads, salamanders…feel smooth snakes, and a prickly hedgehog. Well muck about outside so plan on getting... (410) 279-5416

For campers age 4-6. Sharks are either born from eggs or their mom has them. But however theyre born, theyre on their own as soon as theyre out in the water. That means theyve got teeth and fins and they can swim and they have to catch food. Baby Shark, go get ‘em! What does a little shark eat? Where do they find food? How big are they? Lets see. And did you know sharks have really strange sand papery skin? Youll see why. Were going to pretend were shark pups and make our own shark fins! Come fin around in the water with us! We dont bite! Come learn what it takes to be successful in fleet and team racing (the fun and challenging form of sailing as a team sport). Our experienced race coaches will challenge students to perfect their boat handling techniques, with the skipper and crew developing and refining coordination and mutual reliance. Students will work on improving and refining their boat-handling skills and developing together as a two-person team. Students will be challenged to perfect their upwind and downwind sailing techniques and will learn to better use hiking straps, tiller extensions, and sail controls and will develop their spinnaker and trapeze skills. Students will expand their knowledge of wind, weather, and tides, and will work on basic racing techniques and rules. Students will be encouraged to compete in the many local 420 regattas that we tow boats to by water. All students will be under the supervision of our race coaches in class and at local regattas. In addition to fleet racing, coaches will teach the techniques, tactics and rules of team racing through practice drills and a practice-race format.
