LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Session 9 - Camp Half Blood
Camp Half-Blood is offered in one-week sessions to boys and girls ages 7 through 12. Each session pulls its theme from a different Greek Myth. Using storytelling, live action role play and physically and mentally engaging activities, campers work with their friends to develop new skills, solve problems and create summer memories that will last a lifetime. Demi-Gods will learn archery, sword-fighting, forging, story-making, myth-writing, and create greek-inspired crafts. All of which theyll need in their weekly (quests) to find and defeat the ancient monsters that roam the hills and paths of our Prospect Park campsite. Camp Half-Blood is open to demi-Gods ages 7-12. Our drop-off and pick-up location is at the 9th Street and Prospect Park West entrance to Prospect Park. Each session is $475 per week * 1 Free Complimentary Camp Half-Blood Shirt included. 917-355-5969

This week will plant the seeds of exploration and adventure in a safe, fun, and engaging environment for young outdoors-kids! Learn how to prepare for a hike and stay safe in the wilderness. Learn the four cardinal directions, and the importance of attitude in a survival situation. Make shelters and learn the difference between a survival shelter and a fort. Musical Theatre & Movement (Saturday) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This class is designed for preschool to 2nd grade students. Youngsters will enjoy learning and singing popular childrens musical theatre classics, e.g. The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty & The Beast, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, The Sound of Music. They will also be introduced to simple musical theatre dance steps, all in a gentle, relaxed environment. INSTRUCTOR HEATHER SANDERSON studied classical theatre at RADA in London and prior to moving to Alexandria acted extensively in the San Francisco Bay Area. As "Miss Heather", she is known locally for instilling a love of theatre - in particular Shakespeare - into the hearts of children. Her youth Shakespeare troupes have performed in D.C. and in the U.K. and her privately coached monologue students have performed at the Shakespeare Theatre, the Fords Theatre and numerous community and childrens theatres in the area. We will teach campers how to use its visual, drag & drop interface and complex behavior library, which provides almost limitless freedom to game designers. Campers can bring their mobile game ideas to life in no time at all with no coding!th-3 Test your game utilizing the previewer and then get ready to publish to all supported targets, including iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle, Nook, Windows 8, and Mac desktop. Campers will be provided with a laptop to construct their games. They will have an opportunity to save those games and add them to their devices on Friday at camp, or at home if they wish.
