Exploring Palo Alto through Digital Photography, 2 - Mitchell Park Community Center (MPCC)
Join us for a full day art camp and learn about the fundamentals of digital photography, including composition, lighting, perspective, contrast, color, portraiture and motion, while you are out shooting in the field. Each morning, kids will take photographs in and around Mitchell Park and one to two field trips will be scheduled. In the afternoons, camp will take place in the computer lab at Mitchell Park Community Center, where kids will use PhotoshopTM to enhance, manipulate and finish digital images. Strider Push Bike Camp - Cottonwood Creek Park
This is where it all begins! Learning fun and balance as young as 2 years old, kids and families spend 45 minutes doing age appropriate games and skills in order to achieve proper balance and steering skills. Strider (push bike) camp is geared toward kids who are walking with their bikes, not fully sitting on the seat and not yet gliding or striding. But, it is also for those kids who are ready to learn how to turn, stop and maneuver obstacles. Parents will be hands on during this class. Our College ID sessions offer top quality instruction to take your game to the next level. We will work on the technical side of your game at game speed and under game pressure through exercises and competitions that will help improve first touch, receiving and playing the ball with different surfaces of your foot, passing and shooting accuracy, service over distance, defensive positioning, heading, finishing, and MORE! We will also build on your tactical awareness of the game and your understanding of runs off the ball, defensive organization and communication, along with how to deal with numbers up vs. numbers down situations. Hang with the Bears on and off the field and learn what it takes to be a Division I college soccer player. Residential campers reside in Residence Halls in the center of the UC Berkeley Campus. All campers dine in the state-of-the-art Dining Center. INSTRUCTOR BIO: KEELY KIRK stepped into the improv abyss at a tender age and found a place to be herself. She began training with Mental Floss, a Miami-based improv/sketch troupe which performed at the Coconut Grove Playhouse until Hurricane Andrew blew it all away. She went on to be a principal performer for over ten years with Laughing Gas Comedy Improv --Miamis longest-running improv theatre company. She then decided that Miami was just too warm and balmy and moved to Chicago (the improv epicenter), where she was involved with and trained with IO (formally Improv Olympics) and Second City. While in Chicago, Keely decided to follow President Obama to Washington D.C., to become his presidential jester; however, due to government cutbacks, she was furloughed.
