LATEST CAMPS NEWS: 2016 BAA Junior - Ripley Grier Studios
BAA Junior is a program designed specifically for young performers ages 6-10 who show great promise in musical theatre but are not yet old enough to attend our other workshops and intensives. Students will study voice, acting, and dance in a small group setting where they will develop their fundamental performance skills and explore their creativity. Classes will include theatre games, improvisation, vocal technique, song/scene interpretation, and learning original Broadway choreography from shows like Annie, Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins! The instructors for this program specialize in working with young children and every class will be an energetic, positive environment where the students can make friends and have fun! BAA Junior is also a fantastic opportunity for students to get introduced to Broadway Artists Alliance and prepare themselves for our other workshops and intensives. All students will attend a Broadway show, receive a private coaching from a member of our Senior Staff, and participate in a final Industry Showcase for Casting Directors, Agents and Managers who specialize in working with young performers! 212-561-9429

What do you get when you infuse a camp day of games, swimming and sneaking around in the woods with hammers, saws and wood? Wood Working Camp! Children will learn the ins and outs of tool use and building things with their own hands. They will dream big while creating their own projects from a pile of scrap wood like birdhouses, shelves, etc., puzzle over stripped screws and how best to pull out a nail. She began training with Mental Floss, a Miami-based improv/sketch troupe which performed at the Coconut Grove Playhouse until Hurricane Andrew blew it all away. She went on to be a principal performer for over ten years with Laughing Gas Comedy Improv --Miamis longest-running improv theatre company. She then decided that Miami was just too warm and balmy and moved to Chicago (the improv epicenter), where she was involved with and trained with IO (formally Improv Olympics) and Second City. While in Chicago, Keely decided to follow President Obama to Washington D.C., to become his presidential jester; however, due to government cutbacks, she was furloughed.
