Epidemiology: Disease Investigation - NCSSM Durham Campus
So long as humans have existed on this planet, microbes have coexisted with us. Theyve lived in our bodies and thrived in the environment, posing a silent and constant threat. Theyve caused fevers and panic, helped with digestion and immunity. In this introductory course in human microbial disease, students will be introduced to the impact that various microbes have had in our lives. Students will learn the principles and methods of disease investigation: investigating patterns of illness in populations, identifying infectious microbes by visual assessment, mode of infection, and symptoms. Students will be able to identify the characteristics of various pathogens and infectious agents, be able to explain how diseases spread, and will construct models, create presentations, and collaborate on projects related to epidemiol 919-416-2635

FUNdamental Youth Football Camp - SHS Stadium
The Seymour Football FUNdamental Youth Football Camp will take place May 25-27th at Bulleit Stadium (SHS Campus). Wednesdays camp will be from 4-6PM, while Thursday and Fridays camp will be from 8:00-10:00AM. The camp is open to any student who will be in Kindergarten through 6th grade during the 2016-2017 school year. Pre-registered campers will receive a camp shirt. Walk-up registrations will be accepted. However, walk-up registration will not be guaranteed a camp shirt. Camp shirts will be issued to walk-up registrations on a first come, first served basis. The Seymour Football FUNdamental Youth Camp will introduce and refine the basic fundamental skills of the game of football. This is a NON-CONTACT camp. Proper techniques of blocking, throwing, catching, ball carrying, ball-security and route-running will be taught and developed. Safe and proper tackling techniques will be taught using padded practice dummies. No tackling of any players will take place during this camp. The emphasis of this camp is to develop basic skills and to have fun while learning the game of football. Camp Hollywood - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
Students will write a script, produce, direct, film, and star in a movie in our exciting 1 week camp! Beginning the first day campers will create a story, develop characters, design sets, even work on costumes and make-up. They will then get a crash course in camera work and filming techniques using digital video equipment. Putting all the skills together, students make a movie!
