To celebrate, we're helping send kids to camp with camperships of up to $400 for kids whose families cannot afford such an expense. 100% of your donation goes directly to a kid's camp tuition. SEND A KID 2 CAMP FUNDRAISER! Join Us At Stray Cat Lounge Tuesday, April 19th @ 6PM. Lisa Mattern & Stray Cat Lounge will be hosting a "FUN"draiser for KIDS BURN CAMP, YMCA CAMP MANITOULIN. Acting Out: Comedy Vs. Drama - Swanson Middle School
Have a blast acting out on the stage! Campers will gain and strengthen tools for creating characters, stories, and wacky scenarios for the stage. Pick your session or take them all, as each week offers a new creative path for campers to explore. Character development, playwriting, improvisation, ensemble work and overall confidence are just some of the skills campers will master! Individual Week / Add on Registration Here (2016 AKA SOP SCHEDULE BELOW) AKASPORTs Speed of Play: Leadership through Fitness Program, is led by AKA Director, Chris Schulz and the AKA professional training Staff. Participants enrolled in the AKA Speed of Play (SOP program), in partnership with the AKA All Sports Camp (ages 6-12), will offer adolescents an opportunity to be active, train and play in an All Sports setting geared to teach them leadership qualities with personal mentorship opportunities. The base of the Speed of Play program is from 9:00am-4:00pm and the doors are open for all Speed of Play participants from 7:00am-6:00pm, the same hours of the AKA All Sports Camp so you can take advantage of supervised activity time the entire day. Create a lake in a bottle, jump in to the science of sports, and let your nose be your guide on a trail of scents. A week of hands-on experiments will increase your understanding of our good ship Earth. Learn how animals are camouflaged and go on the hunt for scents and tracks as you take a walk on the wild side of science. Dissect owl pellets and build a strong structure to crawl inside. We will look at it all from nature to pollution to sports to animals.
