Rec Sports Summer Fun Camp: Day camp with an emphasis on traditional sports games and outdoor recreation activities including individual sports, team sports, hiking, kayaking, and camping skills. * All camps run from 9am-1pm and are geared for children ages 5 through 10. Alto Sax: Middle School Band - University of Texas at Austin
The Middle School Band program is designed to accommodate musicians ranging from the most talented and proficient to the less experienced, with a minimum of one year of training on their chosen instrument. It is open to entering grades 7, 8 or 9. The concert bands are conducted by outstanding band directors from around the state. This session provides an excellent opportunity for young musicians to improve their individual performance skills. Instruction includes rehearsals, sectionals, master classes, supervised practice, and optional private lessons. Ceramics 6 - Learn to Throw - Artists Exchange
Build your skills with a week of camp devoted to the pottery wheel. Start by throwing the basic cylinder form and turning it into a functional bowl or vase. Add some character to the plates and cups you use every day with interesting surface techniques and glaze. Ceramics camps allow children to immerse themselves in clay studio studies ranging from basic hand building, wheel throwing, and sculpting. Campers will learn a variety of skills designed to fit the camp they are in. Ceramic focus campers will learn the technical aspects of recycling, slab work, build a simple kiln from a metal trash can and firing pottery in it. All under the guidance of a professional potter and the fire department. Clay adventures offers a beginners taste of experimenting with clay. Sculpting camps have a slight focus on bringing 2-D drawings and images of characters into 3-D form. * Artists Exchange will be open Monday the 8th on Victory Day. 401-490-9475
