Cultural Summer Camp at The CAKE Village - East Dundee, IL
INVITE FRIENDS WHO MAY BE INTERESTED. The CAKE Village African Culture camp is an immersive cultural experience. It's a great way for both Heritage learners and non-heritage learners to expand their knowledge of specific ethnic group from various parts of the African continent. Our goal is to foster a cultural connection to the chosen African ethnic group and enhance cultural awareness, appreciation and heritage esteem in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All classes are taught by native speakers of the respective ethnic group. Culture camp is designed for children 6 year to 14 years and is held once a month from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Saturdays. (Don't worry, they have electricity) **Lights out at 10:30 Saturday, October 31st (HALLOWEEN!) - Breakfast @ 8:00am - 9:00am Followed by a service project at the camp. LUNCH from 12:00am-1:00pm. Saturday Afternoon 1:00 - 3:00pm: Workshops - (1) Blessings of the Temple, (2) Recording Living History. 3:00-6:00pm - Halloween Dance!!! Please come dressed up in your Halloween costumes! This high intensity skill development camp will give aspiring high school athletes a leg up on the competition. Players will be taught a variety of skills related to their positions as well as be involved in multiple competitive individual and team competitions.
