This Girl Scout Camp is nestled in nature’s paradise between meadows, woodlands and a beach area. My 11 year old daughter loves to participate in archery, swimming, kayaking, crafts, boating and hiking. She has developed a love for nature along with improved social skills. Campers will learn about Shakespeare, acting, and stage combat as they prepare to perform a 30-minute version of one of Shakespeare’s plays! Wordplay, swordplay, and insult swapping abound – and they get to do it in costume! SETSCO will provide everything except underwear, shoes, and lunch. Tuition is $235. Ages 9-17.
Haven Place Youth Summer Camp - New Haven, MI
Haven Place Youth Camp (July 31 thru Aug. 7). 7th-12th graders will be staying at Haven Place. Only $30.00 per person 8 days 7 nights. Registreation due by July 2oth. Last year we had 28 attend. Boys will be in tents outside with the adults on watch and the Ladies will be inside with the adult Ladies. They will be mentored by College age students who will be volunteering their time during the mission week. There will be at least four other key adults to chaperone this event. The week will consist of quiet time with the Lord, learning team building skills, sacrificial service to the community and learning to use their God given talents. There will be a praise and worship band, speaker and fun activities planned during the week. Each student will be going to various work sites. Each work site may have different projects, such as light construction, painting, clean up, landscaping, etc....In the afternoons students will be leading a community kids camp which will located at Haven Place. Magical Adventures – Little Superheroes - The Oakwood School
Learn to throw webs like Spiderman, join the superheroes to save a princess, stop the worry monsters and more when you take magical adventures with your favorite superheroes. These exciting activity, relaxation, and mindfulness classes creatively engage the campers imaginations with exciting themes and superhero missions. Through play, crafts, and guided stories, children will learn some basic relaxation techniques and simple mindfulness skills, such as the superheros mindful listening (focusing on a particular sound or listening to see how many different sounds we hear), mindful seeing (like Superman—focusing on seeing things we had not noticed), and mindful breathing (paying attention to our own breathing). Superheroes are known for their ability to focus their superpowers and use them for compassion. Congressman Tim Ryan says, "Mindfulness will help children to pay attention and be kind to themselves and others as they swim in a world of distraction and aggression." In his book A Mindful Nation, Ryan highlights increased focus, decreased stress and a quieter mind as benefits of a regular mindfulness practice. The Fairy Doors will be installed on the Adrian Center for the Arts campus and premiered at our Spring Fling on May 1, 1-5pm. Join us for our annual summer camp where kids participate in a stimulating and competitive environment. Focus will be on helping kids with teamwork and fundamentals while playing a variety of sports throughout the week. Kick off the summer by celebrating colorful Colorado. Join us as we learn why aspens grow in groves, find signs of mountain pine beetle, and study the natural world around us. Come explore our beautiful state by train, by foot, and through the eyes of a miner. Get excited to find out what makes Colorado radical!
