Science in the City Camp, Session II - Francis W Parker
Science in the City Camp provides students with a full week to explore a science topic alongside passionate faculty. Science in the City courses will activate campers imaginations as they are encouraged to invent, engage and explore. Using Chicago as a resource, campers will connect science activities with everyday life. See options for specific course offerings each week. LUNCH: Science in the City campers must bring their own peanut-free bag lunches and drinks each day. Refrigerated facilities are not provided. An insulated lunch box with an ice pack is recommended. This program will provide an intensive look at 3D printing and prototyping! Students will cover the history of this incredible technology, learn about various types of 3D Printers, how to properly prepare and operate our printers and how to model objects from scratch using TinkerCAD and 123Design. The class will culminate with each student designing and printing their own unique objects to take home!
