This Girl Scout Camp is nestled in nature’s paradise between meadows, woodlands and a beach area. My 11 year old daughter loves to participate in archery, swimming, kayaking, crafts, boating and hiking. She has developed a love for nature along with improved social skills. This Spring the Vermont People’s Convention will bring hundreds of people together as a critical step in building a unified movement for healthy communities and a just society. On April 30 & May 1st at Montpelier High School, individuals and organizations working for disability rights, racial justice, immigrant rights, climate justice and labor unions will come together for a weekend to share, learn and take action together. The organizers of the convention are working hard to make this an intergenerational event with a parallel Youth Activism Summit for teens, and a Kid’s Camp for children 12 and under. To make lasting and far reaching change we need the participation of Grandparents, Parents and their Children! The Kid’s Camp at the People’s Convention will not only provide quality childcare, but will be a fun space for kids to learn about and participate in creating a more just and vibrant world. Through stories and activities, kids will have opportunities to learn and think critically about various struggles for human rights and dignity. With art projects, cooperative games, and nature exploration kids will be encouraged to express themselves and make friends.
