Summer String Fest I with Laura Norris - The Philadelphia School
This program is designed to be an extension of musical learning for students who currently take private violin or cello lessons. During this camp we will learn new songs, discuss playing technique, learn basic music theory, and play music games. We will end the week with a mini-performance, during which campers can showcase what theyve learned. Students who wish to participate must have completed at least one year of private lesson study on their instrument. Early drop off is available at no additional cost from 8:00am-9:00am. Summer BLAST! - 3 weeks - Oakwood
For children entering 2nd-6th grade: SUMMER BLAST! at Oakwood is an afternoon program designed to engage children in enriching, entertaining, and educational activities, and runs from 1:30–4:30 pm. Children may enroll in Summer BLAST! even if theyre not enrolled in the morning Summer Arts Academy program. If a child is enrolled in the morning Summer Arts Academy program, he/she will have a supervised lunchtime from 12:45–1:30 pm each day, and will need to bring a lunch. During the first session of the afternoon the children will be divided by age into two groups and will rotate between the two classes offered that week. During the second session students choose between Sports Club, Book Club, or Tennis Club. Students may enroll in one, two or all three weeks. The classes during the first session change each week. Lower School Drama Club - Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School
The Drama Club will work under the direction of Lil Buds Artistic Director/Co-Founder Jeff Predmore. Mr. Predmore is a professional actor and Director here in Chicago. The students in the Drama Club will work as an ensemble to stage a selected scripted play. The play will be determined based on class size. The students will learn all aspects of putting on a theatrical production, from character creation, staging, choreography and vocal production. The session will end with a final performance for invited family and friends. We will be presenting and adaptation of little mermaid for our final performance. Acting and Auditioning Studio Workshop - The Georgetown Palace Theatre
This 3 week workshop puts an in depth focus on the skills needed to succeed in theatre and performance. Working with professional performers, directors, and teaching artists, students will receive instruction in Acting, Vocals, and Dance including: -script analysis -improvisation -monologue technique -physicality -breaking down lyrics -finding the story of the song -basics of a professional musical theatre audition -choosing songs that showcase YOU -finding a 16-bar cut -working with an accompanist -stretching and warm up -basics of musical theatre dance -moving like a dancer -dance auditions (how to make it out alive) The workshop culminates in a feedback audition to introduce you to local theatre professionals on Friday night as well as a student designed performance of skills on Saturday morning. Hitter Elite Camp - Alaska Airlines Center
This camp is designed to fine tune hitting technique. The camp will be an intense camp with a lot of reps and one-on-one instruction. Hitters MUST be physically ready for heavy use of legs and shoulders. The Setting Elite Camp will also be held at this time. The camp will be led by Head Coach Chris Green and staff. This camp WILL BE LIMITED to 24 hitters and 12 setters. This camp fills up quickly, register early! There is a lunch break from 12pm-1pm. Lunch will not be provided. 907-786-1226
