I have a daughter who is 9 and a son who is 11. They both enjoy this 4-H camp because of the friendships they have formed along with the skills they have learned. Girls 5/6 LAX - Old Trail LAX fields and HMAC
The next team sport to open up for registration in our new Grade 5/6 Team Sports Development Program will be Girls Lacrosse. The goal of this program is to help girls develop basic lacrosse game skills and to provide opportunities to apply these skills in modified game situations. This program will be coached by Ms. Margie Anderson, former NCAA Division I College player (UMass) and coach (UNH) and one of our coaches of the MS girls 7 & 8 grade Girls Lacrosse teams and by Mrs. Christy Woodburn, grade 5 Assistant. Practices will be held on the following Wednesdays and Fridays: April 20, 22 , 27, and 29 and May 6, and 11. In addition, a small number of games/scrimmages are scheduled on Monday 5/2 (Hudson Youth at OTS), Friday 5/13 (the Saints at OTS), Saturday 5/14 (noon CLE at OTS), plus on Wednesday 5/18 (Revere Youth at OTS). Minimum number of participants will be 12 Registration fee is $125 and the registration deadline is April 17, 2016 Players are strongly encouraged to bring their own goggles, mouth guards and sticks. The camp curriculum engages students in mathematical and scientific explorations. Students are exposed to math and science topics through activities and discoveries. Topics will include: math art, money, shapes, fossils, rockets, submarines, biology, chemistry, and more. Project Play offers children ages three and four the opportunity to learn as they play in an engaging environment with… -supportive, experienced teachers that will support and deepen playful learning -an exciting and developmentally appropriate learning environment, including time exploring nature and outdoor spaces -high quality materials and art media, including clay, paint, natural materials, fabric, and more -a portfolio of photos and your childs words that document his or her learning journey throughout the week Educational research supports play as the best way for children to learn.
