Back Again For More Fun
This is the third year that our girl has spent the full two weeks at Piomingo. The big difference is that this year she is going back as a counselor in training. We're very excited that she was given the opportunity to step up in a leadership position. PreTeen Camp Fundraiser Luncheon - First Baptist Church
Heart Of Texas Preteen Camp is quickly approaching and I know we have alot of kids from Goldthwaite who want to go. ! This fundraiser is to off set the cost for the families of children wanting to attend. Preteen camp is for any child entering 4th - 6th grade is usually $145. At the luncheon we will serve: Tom Guthrie's FAMOUS Pulled Pork, Beans, Potato Salad, Bread, Pickles, Onions and Dessert.

This is a non-padded, light contact camp, aimed to improve youth football IQ through position-specific techniques, fundamentals and skills development. Campers will be coached by the Good Counsel football staff and numerous NFL and Division I football players. Both days will conclude with 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 scrimmages. Camp highlights include a Parents Seminar to review early onset strategies to help your child reach and succeed at the next level. REGULAR CAMP This years session themes and cultures of focus include: Melanesias Matchless Majesty, Argentinas Amazing Adventures, Zimbabwes Zesty Zambezi, and Cubas Captivating Coast. Campers will embark on a cultural journey that includes the exploration of nature, geography, music, history, foreign languages, art, science, math, exercise, sports, and literature. Sub-themes are incorporated daily to facilitate a fun and culturally stimulating camp experience. Campers also participate in specialty classes such as chess, cooking, and yoga.BEFORE & AFTER CAMP Before and After Campers will participate in organized games and activities. This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.The Arroyo Seco Adventure Camp offers opportunities to learn about our local, natural resources in a fun and exciting way. Now in its third year, this innovative camp pairs environmental education with traditional camp activities. Based in Brookside Park with regular activities in the lower Arroyo, this is an outdoor camp. The first week of camp focuses on origins of the Arroyo Seco and the geological events that created this amazing space. Other weeks focus on plants of the Arroyo, local animals and myths, protecting and exploring nature and survival skills. Conservation specialisits lead daily nature walks and instruct on conservation of environmental resources, native plants and local wildlife. Other activities include casting pond fly-fishing, archery, horseback riding, hiking, environmental education lessons, swimming, art and group games. Campers go on a weekly environmental themed field trip. In previous years, trips included kayaking, nature centers and local farms. Staff ratio is 1 to 10.
