The year is 2025. Our rocket ship has landed on a distant planet and our class has been asked to make it a comfortable place to live and explore. Well build homes, rovers, machines and spacecraft - and power them with LEGO® motors. The projects include: •A space home with rotating solar panels above the roof powered by a LEGO® motor •All-terrain rover equipped with a satellite dish to explore the planet and report findings back to base •Research buggy with extras like a drill to analyze rocks and dig for minerals •Spacecraft to travel around the planet This class is great for a LEGO® fanatic as well as someone new to the world of brick construction. Students learn how to incorporate gears into projects, use battery packs and motors to power creations, interlock bricks for strength, make sturdy connections with LEGO Technic® beams and pegs, and more! This summer is the inaugural series of Summer Camps to serve the homeless youth of Clark County and North County! We plan to serve over 250 youth. We have invited Second Step Housing, Aspire and EVERY shelter in the area. This will be a FREE CAMP for them! WE CAN NOT DO THIS ALONE! We need as much help as we can get with fundraising! The vision is that every child leaves Camp inspired to DREAM BIG despite of their present circumstances. We want every child to also be able to leave with a NEW back pack full of supplies, and at least $100 gift card to be able to buy a new school out fit and a new pair of shoes too! Sewing Camp is offered to children ages 6-14. This year we will be working on a number of machine projects as well as some hand sewing. There is no experience necessary.
