Throughout the week, we will learn about the history of belly dance, do exercises to inspire creativity and self-expression, and of course...dance! Different styles of belly dance will be introduced through hours of drills and practice, forming into a choreography that participants will have the opportunity to perform at the end of the week in a safe and supportive environment (performance optional). We will also study Middle Eastern music and become acquainted with the rhythms that are so fun to dance to! Now in its 5th year, Festif is a family fun event that combines cycling, trail running, entertainment, food, and fun. Rides range from family friendly distances to a quad burning 44 miles. All riders will have cue sheets and routes well marked. There will be rider support on each route and both the 20 and 44 mile route each have a well stocked rest stop. NEW for 2016: 5k and 10k Fox and Hound runs! Chase our "fox" around Camp Fowler during these trail runs. The 5k is both family and walker friendly and prizes will be given to anyone who is able to follow the foxes clues and catch them before the finish. Cycling or running isn't for you? Smart with Art educators will teach students to work with 3D design elements, learn about creating art in perspective, all while exploring practical applications of 3D technology. We will challenge their spatial skills with ocean themed, art-related activities. Students will be able to create a personalized 3D model to print and take home at the end of class.
