The Setter/Hitter Camp is for athletes entering grades 6-12. This camp is ideal for athletes who have established themselves as a setter or hitter and want to improve on one of these skills. The sessions focus specifically on improving advanced hitting or setting techniques for improved execution during game situations through excellent, intensive training. Players enrolling in these camps should be ready for intermediate and advanced skills training. Campers must specify whether they are a setter, outside hitter, or middle blocker. Camp Lu Lay Lea is Christian summer camp open to all boys and girls ages 8-14.We offer six one-week sessions, each accommodating up to 86 campers per week (Sunday through Saturday). Young people need positive, constructive, interesting and challenging things to do with their time. Camp Lu Lay Lea structures its schedule to provide these opportunities along with plenty of fun. Campers play, learn, develop their creativity, strengthen their faith in a Christian environment, create new friendships, and grow, all while being surrounded by the charming elegance of Northern Michigan. Grand Lake fall softball league is now accepting registrations forms. The league will start on August 21st and will play five weekend doubleheaders. The league is open to girls in the 3rd through 12th grades. The league will be divided into three different leagues: 3rd -5th will play in a machine pitch league, 6th – 8th graders will play in the jr. high division and 9th to 12th graders will play in the high school division. The cost is $100 for High School players and Jr. high players. The 3rd to 5th grade division is $79. The deadline to register is Aug 1st. Visual Arts Camp - Session 3 - Takoma Park Community Center
Have fun and express yourself through color, shape, drawing and design! Each session includes a new art related theme and group of art processes and activities. Sharpen your drawing skills, explore new materials and exercise your imagination with inspiring art projects. Two hours of drawing in the morning using graphite, pen and ink, colored pencils, charcoal pencils, pastels, oil pastels or conte crayon, etc. followed by two + hours of painting and/or collage and assemblage in the afternoon. Media such as watercolor painting, sumi-e, mixed media painting, texture and found - object assemblage will be explored. Art related movies, access to the game room during the day and outdoor art adventures are all included in what will certainly be a memorable summer experience. All materials included. Instructor: Katie Dell Kaufman Paperwork will need to be completed prior to the first day of camp.
