Lil Sluggers is an instructional youth baseball program designed to introduce kids ages 2 through 6 to the game of baseball and prepare them for their journey into organized team play by improving and developing their social and physical skills both on and off the field. Class energy, pace, and a small player to coach ratio results in more action and more fun! Basic baseball fundamentals such as throwing, fielding, hitting, catching, and base running are core curriculum. This is the third year that our girl has spent the full two weeks at Piomingo. The big difference is that this year she is going back as a counselor in training. We're very excited that she was given the opportunity to step up in a leadership position. SummerART Camp Studio Art Morning Program 9:30am to 1:45pm Session III: July 25 to August 5 Studio Art Camp Farm to Easel: Animals of the Northeast Celebrate the wonder of summer by exploring the animals and plants that live, blossom, and grow all around us. This session will explore our regions animals and plant life. From the farms to the forest, and birdhouses to beaches, we will be inspired by the colors, shapes, and sound of the flora and fauna that are local to our area. Weather permitting, campers will explore nature on MAMs grounds and at Van Vleck House and Gardens. We will create works of two and three dimensional art in a variety of media inspired by our observations and imaginations! Learn to turn your favorite photos into artful fabric landscapes. In this class you will create a realistic fabric landscape by choosing appropriate fabrics and making free-motion machine stitches. You will be taught how to make patterns for your picture, learn many artistic points, learn how to stitch picture details, receive a reference booklet and plenty of individual help. After taking this class you will have a completed, or nearly completed fabric landscape! Students must bring their own sewing machine (for the second and third sessions) and have a basic ability to use the free-motion mode. Be sure your machine is in great working condition. No painting is involved, but you will be an artist with just fabric and thread! Supply list: • Your photo • A black and white copy of the photo enlarged to the size you wish to make in fabric. • Scissors for paper • Pen or fine tipped marker • Tracing paper • Optional: Fabrics you may use, but you will learn about fabric choice and know more clearly what to use after the first session • NOTE: at the first session you will learn what other supplies you will need, such as stabilizer, kinds... 239-939-2787

Get hands on experience learning from Penn State Behrend coaches and athletes at summer camp! All levels of experience welcome. Camp runs Monday through Friday. All campers receive a free shirt as well. Lego EV3 Robotics - Universalist Unitarian Church - Arlington
Lego EV3 Robotics (Ages 8 through 12) This program introduces students to the exciting world of robotics. Students will use the Lego Mindstorms EV3 elements to program their robots to solve a series of challenges everyday. They will build using motors of different power and experiment with touch, ultrasonic, gyro, and color sensor to play fun games such as hockey and sumo wrestling. Lessons will cover topics in computer science, technology, engineering, math, and science. Campers will learn fundamentals of programming blocks such as loops, conditional operations, and the use of variables to store sensor values; and will learn how to program remote control, create parallel programming, and use computers, Bluetooth, and other technologies to connect with their robots. After mastering the basics of Lego EV3 building and programming, students will be immersed in a series of challenging Mars missions: launch the satellite, collect rocks, activate communications, save the robot, secure the power supply, and return to base safely. Students will be encouraged to build and test several designs and programs while collaborating and communicating with each other to successfully complete these tasks. 703-244-0585
