All five senses will be used as we do indoor and outdoor art projects. Students will discover how much they can see, taste, hear, touch, and smell art! The class will be exploring with color, texture, and other different art mediums. Much science is worked into their work as well as both small and some large motor skills. Kids Spring Break Camp - Hermitage Museum & Gardens
Magical Gardens Gardens are a major part of what makes the Hermitage so special. During this week of camp we will celebrate various gardens as we take your young artist out into the beautiful Rose Garden, Sunken Garden, and Rain Gardens at the Hermitage. Campers will do observational drawings, landscape paintings and create their very own ‘magical garden. Through nature walks they will discover garden sculptures and learn about patterns in the natural world. This year campers will also have a special opportunity to contribute to the Hermitages very own vegetable garden! Allow your artist to discover magic in the Hermitage Gardens! The camp day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m., with a morning session that will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon, lunch and playing time from noon to 1:00 p.m., and the afternoon session from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The camp day ends promptly at 4:00 p.m. 757-423-2052 x203
Archery Camps - Archery Camp-Intermediate - Camden Youth Center
Want to continue your new found skill? Our instructor will work with you on increasing your level of skill while spending more time working on your technique and increasing your shooting distance. We will also introduce different types of bows and equipment. All basic archery equipment will be provided. You must have completed a Camden Beginning Archery Camp prior to registration for this activity. Please bring a water bottle and snack each day. No camp 2/15 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You must have completed a beginning archery camp at Camden prior to enrollment in an intermediate camp (they cannot be concurrent). Python Process with Kim Howard Johnson - iO Theater
Howard has just returned from spending most of November on the road with John Cleese (including a stop at the iO), and is anxious to present the his own insights into the Monty Python writing process, and how it can work for you. This eight-week workshop will immerse participants in the Python creative process, and by the end of the eighth session, participants will have completed, polished sketches which can be presented on stage and/or filmed as a sketch show or revue. 312-929-2401
Setting Mini Camp P.M. Session - Rice University Tudor Fieldhouse
This camp will focus on overhead setting, or taking the second ball with your hands. This is a skill everyone should learn. Overhead passing will also be covered in this camp. *Note: This mini camp will have different drills from the morning session, so those attending both session will not repeat all of the same drills. 713-348-4795
