My 5 year old twin daughters had great stories to share with us after spending time at this camp. Not only did they have fun, but they also learned to cook healthy food! Game Theory Mathematics - Hopkins Campus
Is there a best strategy for playing Rock-Paper-Scissors or Deal or No Deal? Can humans be truly random? We will investigate questions like these from economic, political, biological, diplomatic and psychological angles. In addition, we will solve a number of classic problems including the Prisoners Dilemma, the Monte Hall problem and the birthday problem. Campers will have an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of good ball striking and tee shots from lead instructor, Coach Pumford. Campers will utilize Trackman Golf Radar Systems along with V1 camera systems. Each camper will get an assessment of their game and a personalized improvement plan. The merging of Algebra 2 and Geometry begins in this course with the continued development of functions and their context within the real number system. Using geometric modeling, this course covers roughly 2/3 of the traditional Geometry course and 1/3 of the traditional Algebra 2 course. Students use the graphing calculator and The Geometers Sketchpad software. PREREQUISITE: Algebra 1 & Ensworth Mathematics Department approval CREDIT: Year lower course credit in Mathematics 615-383-0661
