Literacy (M/W) - Office of Children, Youth & Learning
Children learn literacy skills through songs, poems, literacy centers, small and whole group activities, and read-alouds. Children engage in play and activities that are related to alphabet knowledge, phonological awareness, print knowledge, comprehension, reading and writing. The core of our literacy program was created at the Bank Street College of Education in New York. Meets twice per week. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a Drop-off Class and therefore children must meet the following requirements; use the bathroom independently, separate easily from parent/guardian, and be 3 years old on the first day of class. 401-475-0929 x1

Crafty Cruisers Grades 4-5 - Community Cycling Center Bike Shop
For the creative rider who derives their inspiration from the bicycle, this is the camp to let their imagination go wild. From small trinkets to a funky custom bike, the possibilities are endless. Campers comb over unserviceable bikes, salvage parts that inspire them, and breathe new life into them by fashioning their own bike-based crafts. Time tends to be split evenly between rides and crafts. Skills they will develop: • Controlling speed around other riders • Taking left turns into bike lanes • Riding on various surfaces • Shifting gears for efficiency • Map Reading and route planning • Wheel removal and flat repair 503-288-8864 x321

Seahorses: All American Theme Grades: entering 3rd-4th This is a fun and safe environment which promotes creativity and self-awareness through activities, games and songs. This camp focuses on developing friendships and working as a team. Campers will gain an understanding of the importance of self-esteem and respect.
