This 68 year old camp is designed for children from 2nd grade to 11th grade. The camp has a strong Jewish heritage which influences the activities they offer. My 12 year old son enjoys the friendly staff and the fun activities. He has grown in confidence while discovering who he is in relation to the community at large. Join Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center for a day of crafting on the day off from school on November 11th. Kids ages 5-12 will enjoy weaving with natural and recycled materials, and felting with naturally dyed alpaca fleece. Featuring special guest Phylleri Ball of Three Sisters Weaving. Kids will love spending this beautiful Fall day in the mountains of Nederland, outside of Boulder and Denver. Week 5- ESE- LEGO WeDo IStories - Eagle Springs Elementary School
TECH IT OUT- Robotics I-Stories or Interactive Stories is a hands-on minds on learning experience that enhances students reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through project-based learning and STEM Literacy. STEM literacy relates to a students ability to understand and apply concepts from science, technology, engineering and mathematics in order to solve complex problems. Campers will use LEGO WeDo to constructing their own stories with over 20 main characters models featuring working motors and sensors to choose from; code their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities that develop their literacy skills of reading, writing, designing, speaking and listening. TECH IT OUT- I-Stories culminated in a high tech share fair where students set up a display of their models and present their computer animated interactive stories to their learning community and families. 8322080445.0
Dangerous Camp for Boys - Both Weeks - Dangerous Camp at The Heights School
All boys need adventure in their life. This camp is for designed to foster a love of life and adventure outside of the trappings of video games and technology. The DC4B offers a generous sampling of activities and lessons that familiarizes the campers with games, hobbies, and skills that every boy should know and love. The camp is much more idea-specific than the usual boys summer camp. With its conglomerate of themes, this camp is directed with a specific vision towards the healthy, all-around growth of boys body and mind, through healthy, active leisure. The camp will be divided into four ‘companies, allowing the boys to take part in a friendly competition that culminates on the final day of camp. Sample activities may include calligraphy, sports, field trips, short stories, yo-yos, harmonicas, knot tying, bouldering, historic battles, juggling, paper airplanes, fire-building, slingshots, lawn games, creeking, and more! SAT 1/2 DAY ZOO CAMP - SPIDER MONKEYS 9-12 YRS - CHARLES PADDOCK ZOO
Come connect with the animals and learn what they like to do for fun! This exciting camp teaches the importance of enrichment. Enrichment is anything that encourages the animals to make choices, exhibit natural or species-appropriate behaviors. It also presents mental challenges for the animal, encourages physical activity/exercise and enhances their overall health and well-being. Our campers will discover what type of enrichment is best for each animal, create it and then watch the animal ambassador enjoy it! (if time allows, you can make your own take-home enrichment for the animals in your own backyard). Please bring a refillable drink container and a sack lunch. Snacks will be provided.
