LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Musical Production: The Lion King - The Evergreen School
Two shows on Friday July 29th at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in The Evergreen Theater. Calling actors, singers, and dancers! The Evergreen School Summer Performing Arts Program is putting on a big show and we need your talent! In this two week production, students become members of a small cast, and each day is filled with fun activities that build skills for musical theater. This years show is The Lion King. Every student enrolled receives a copy of the music and the script in advance of rehearsals. Auditions take place on the first day of class. In this production, everyone will be strongly featured with solos for all. On the last day, July 29, in partnership with our Backstage Crew and Costume Crew classes, actors will present two big performances (3:00 pm and 7:00 pm) complete with sets, costumes and lights. Attendance is required for all days of these two weeks and at both shows. This successful summer program has a team of five experienced teaching artists all lead by Evergreens Vanessa Miller. PAPA Vacation Camp is offered to students ages 7 – 16 and designed to introduce, identify and strengthen each participants performance skills, self-confidence, creativity, and ability to work with others towards a common goal: the show! WK 2: Comedy - Elmwood Franklin School
This is a crash course in comedy that you wont find at any other camp in the Western New York area. Campers will learn to write, perform, edit, and star in comedy sketches. Where else can kids spend the summer getting the absolute rush of making a room full of people laugh? This camp will build their social skills, creative skills, public speaking, and give them an arsenal of useful cognitive tools that will serve them for the rest of their lives. 877-228-4881 x136
Residential Field Player Camp - Rice University
The residential camp for field players will focus on four principles of a complete player: physical, psychological, technical and tactical. The program will be intense, but will foster learning through a fun, competitive environment. Players begin each day with strength and agility exercises and then a technical session. After lunch, players will return to the field for our tactical session and small sided games. Each evening, competitive matches will be played, giving coaches the opportunity to observe the players understanding of the topics covered that day. Our staff will be comprised of only the top college, ODP and club coaches available. This camp is open to any and all boys and girls ages 12-18. **Please note that graduating high school seniors are now allowed to participate in summer camps where collegiate coaches are on staff.
