Kids have FUN during school vacation at the the Connecticut Science Center! Campers in grades 1-6 will experience hands-on science enrichment through fun and engaging activities. Camps include structured activities with our STEM Educators, as well as supervised free time to explore the Science Centers galleries and exhibits. We offer Day Camps during school vacation as well as week-long programs in the summer. Each camps theme helps develop science concepts, guiding campers to greater understanding of science material and its application to the real world. The Instructional sessions will run for 90 minutes a day Mon. – Fri. 8:00 am to 9:30 am Lessons will include putting, short game, full swing, bunker play, rules, etiquette and on course experience, plus games and fun! Each participant will receive a Indian Creek logoed tee gift.

Saber Academy: Beginning - The Evergreen School
Learn the code, live the code! Hone your skills! Students will learn techniques to safely wield a saber. The mind, the body, and the spirit will be challenged! Class lessons include meditation, yoga, fencing, and some elements of Parkour. As students learn these skills to have a chance to be chosen by a Knight, one must also craft their own saber. As such, each apprentice will design and build their own saber that is truly theirs to keep. Small power tools and soldering techniques will be taught so students may craft their own personal saber. Soft Ground Etching (3 classes) - Kala Printmaking Studio
An in-depth course exploring all aspects of soft ground etching and its combination with aquatint, chine colle, and drawing. Students will learn about line and tone etching, shape and texture transfer, and aquatint manipulation. They will create layered prints by the addition of a second plate to the one holding the key design. All levels welcome. NOTE: Please only select this session if the weeks you would like your child to attend are not available on the Mates session. Please choose 2 weeks minimum. A class designed to introduce young children to sailing. Students will sail in a 14-foot sailboat, with three to four other children and one instructor. The class is a fun introduction to sailing with the goal of having students become comfortable in small boats. Specific skills include basic concepts of sail trim, steering and overall safety.
