Want to continue your new found skill? Our instructor will work with you on increasing your level of skill while spending more time working on your technique and increasing your shooting distance. We will also introduce different types of bows and equipment. All basic archery equipment will be provided. You must have completed a Camden Beginning Archery Camp prior to registration for this activity. Please bring a water bottle and snack each day. Parents often feel child-sick when youth leave for camp. Most youth development professionals warn against calling too much because it can make the kid homesick. Camp directors often suggest that families write children letters. Waiting a week before calling to check in can also relieve the parent and the child’s anxiety. Kid's Art Camp-Russellville Monday & Tuesday 5:30pm - Russellville, KY
Join us Monday and Tuesday at 5:30 pm for our 4th annual Kid's Art Camp! Drop them off to us, do your shopping, have a date with your honey then pick them up two hours later! Ages 5-14 Cost is $60 for 2 nights per child or $35 per night for one child. We will be painting on canvas, creating glass art and learning about famous artists! Light snack each night! The Founders and Evolution of Summer Resorts & Kids Camps - Readfield,
Four years ago Charles L. Day and Dale Potter-Clark began the process of gathering information for "Founders and Evolution of Summer Resorts..." right here at a Maranacook Community Education class. Fifty or more enthusiastic people gathered that evening to share stories and to learn about the resorts, hotels and kids’ camps that have existed in this immediate area. After years of conducting personal interviews, making site visits and doing exhaustive research Charles and Dale have published a 356 page book packed with 220+ vintage photos and information about more than forty establishments that have existed on the four lakes. Thrown in for good measure is “The Larches” on “Lake Myra” in Readfield. Included is the history of the railroad, steamboats and the trolley in this area as well as the various establishments, founders and directors. Dale will first talk about the process and some discoveries made while researching and writing the book and following this she will do a reading. She will be available to sell and sign books after the presentation. Potter-Clark will be offering three classes the spring of 2017 (Mar, Apr, May) at $12.50 each or $30 for all three. Proceeds will help fund a "Museum in the Streets" in Readfield.

The Theme this year is: LIFE IS MESSY! Registration for this COST FREE week of teen camp begins at 4:30 on Tuesday, July 19th. Activities for Senior High could include (but is not limited to) Boogie Bowling (with strobe lights), laser tag, basketball, carpet ball, ping pong, volleyball, putt putting, water slide, water balloons, swimming, paddle boat riding, playing on playground equipment, softball, hiking, sharing bathroom & shower facilities with other campers, sleeping on floors in rooms at the Church building, community service, worship and recreation,and traveling to activities. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or stained and bring plenty of towels.

Giant City, Pomona Natural Bridge and Cave-in-Rock are just some of the places we will visit during this week. We will also sneak in a trip to the Chocolate Factory and Dixon Springs State Park. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure your child (grade 1-6) is a part of this awesome summer. Guided by our American Red Cross Certified Staff, this summer promises to be one adventure after the other. Campers should bring a swimsuit and towel, sunscreen and bug spray, a water bottle and lunch everyday. Afternoon snack will be provided. Children should wear clothes that can get dirty and comfortable shoes that they can wear while running and hiking. Camp will run from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Before and after care is available for an additional fee. A weekly newsletter will give parents and campers an idea of what to expect each week. Join us for a summer of adventure, friendship and fun! Story telling was never this much fun! Utilizing the LEGO® StoryStarter set we will introduce students to the basic structures of a well-composed story (making this class a great language arts tool). At the same time we will also introduce them to the world of technology as we show them how to animate their stories in their very own graphic storybook. They will build their LEGO® story scenes and (using photo capture and editing tools) bring the story to life in print. We will create multiple storybooks in this class and each student will receive a DVD containing printable versions of all their creations to take home. In StoryStarter II we will have the same great fun but with all new story types and plots! We will delve further in the story telling process by emphasizing character development and 5 step story telling. You do NOT have to take the first class in order to take II. 770-826-0449
