With the New Year upon what better way to start it out than with a positive poster to hang in your home or community! Children can create their own quote for their poster or we will provide a variety for them to choose from. We will provide a variety of creative materials as well as a few inspiration pieces. Although we do teach technique we allow and encourage the voice of each individual child to shine through. In other words, no two paintings or sculptures will ever leave our studio looking the same. 2016 Teen Musical Camp presents Zombie Night! Directed by Vincent Ratzavong Music Direction Derrick Lacasse Choreographer Jake Boyce Producer Jen Rombalski This doo-wopping musical pays great tribute to classic horror flicks like “Night of the Living Dead,” “The Return of the Living Dead” and “Cemetery High.” Howie, Louise, Gary and Phoebe are in charge of “Zombie Night,” the annual senior class party. They locate an abandoned farmhouse by an old graveyard, once occupied by the creepy, crawly Dr. Thanatos, who tried to re-animate the dead (gulp!). Vivian and Anne show up, determined to destroy the party. (They’re sore losers who wanted a sock hop instead.) Enter a grim farmer who warns the kids that it’s dangerous to stay. We soon discover why — zombies! While the decorations go up, the zombies shuffle from the graveyard. Cosmic cannibals! It’s zombies versus students! The spoof races to a spine-chilling and hilarious finale. With a great opportunity for eerie makeup with the zombies, this bebopping fright-fest plays well at Halloween or any time of year!

Join Virginia Outside for an introduction to kayaking and kayak fishing. Our staff will instruct you on safety, paddling, and general maneuvering of a sit-on-top kayak. As you learn throughout the week at various locations, we will incorporate fishing, sightseeing and touring while paddling on all types of water. From local lakes and rivers like Bull Run, Fountainhead, and tidal creeks of the Potomac. We will progress to days on lazy rivers that include the Shenandoah, Rappahannock, and Rapidan Rivers. A kayak is a great way to get close to nature and we expect to see bald eagles, ospreys, herons, deer and beaver. When we are fishing our catch will include large and smallmouth bass, catfish, sunfish, crappie, and maybe even the infamous snakehead.
