Have you been taking lessons or playing in your school orchestra? Come to our String Chamber Camp! Gain confidence and independence as you play in small groups with no more than two students playing each part. Improve your ensembles skills and play more expressively with the help of MacPhail string faculty and teaching interns. Camp will conclude with a final performance for family and friends. Current MacPhail students do not need to audition. We will consult your instructor for your playing level. All other students can contact MacPhail Student Services to schedule an audition (612) 321-0100. Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 4:00-6:00. Chicago Youth Centers’ Camp Rosenthal is excited to announce its first annual Women's Wellness Retreat April 29th - May 1st 2016. As 21st century women we are constantly juggling the responsibilities of family, work and school. We all deserve some time out for ourselves. Why not take some time to re-connect with yourself and enjoy the fellowship of womanhood at our beautiful camp in Southwestern Michigan. Our women’s only weekend retreat will give you an opportunity to relax in a beautiful and inviting environment, reconnect with your inner self through art, meditation and reflection and allow plenty of time to appreciate sisterhood and enjoy pampering yourself. The weekend package includes lodging, meals and a full program of women centered activities for an all-inclusive fee of $125 per person. Bring a friend and get $5 off the cost of the weekend. In this class you are introduced to all the fundamental skills of improvising, while improving your ability to listen and explore the power of building off of other peoples ideas. Level 1 is a survey of the entire program, exposing you to the elements of scene work and the various skills involved in creating well-acted, comedic improvisation. Passing Criteria: Students must demonstrate that their listening has improved over the course of the term and that they are willing to build off of their partners ideas, in addition to having gained some proficiency with the technical aspects of actually doing so on stage.
