Kid's Campout with the Prickly Pear Living History Museum - San Antoni
Do you want to help your kids build a connection to nature, but aren’t sure how? Do you struggle to get them away from screens? On March 19th and 20th Government Canyon State Natural Area and the Prickly Pear Living History Museum will be co-hosting a camping event for kids ages 10-16 and their parents. No screens allowed, but no one will be bored. Instead, we’ll talk about how local Native Americans survived and thrived in the same places we now call our home. For hands-on learning we’ll have reproduction tools, weapons, and natural resources for everyone to explore. Along the way, kids discover how to be hike leaders and why it’s important to be good caretakers of the land. We’ll provide most of the equipment. Maximum of two kids and two adults per group, so that more kids can enjoy the experience. Space is limited to 12 people. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED! Our last event filled up fast. Bill Waris Blue Jays Spring Basketball Camp - Saint Thomas More
The Bill Waris Blue Jays Basketball Club will be hosting a Spring Basketball Camp at Saint Thomas More Grade School on April 2nd and 3rd for grades 3rd through 8th grade. The camp will held for grades 3rd-5th on Saturday from 9am-11am and Sunday from 12pm-2pm. Grades 6th-8th grade will be held on Saturday from 11am-1pm and Sunday from 2pm-4pm. CJ and Nick Naudet 4 year Varsity Basketball Lettermen from Bishop OHara High School and Timothy Waris Jr. currently playing on the varsity basketball team from Rockhurst High School will be running the basketball camp and showing the young campers what they have learned over the years playing basketball at Bishop OHara and Rockhurst High School. PeeWee golf camps are designed for younger junior golfers and can range from as young as 4 years old to beginning juniors up to age 7 (and sometimes even 8). Our PeeWee camps focus on an introduction to the game and the fundamentals (those first three letters, F-U-N, being very important), all in an atmosphere that fosters learning and sportsmanship. Camps will touch on all aspects of the game of golf and include full-swing, short-game, and putting as well as rules, etiquette, what to expect on the course.
